Called 3:54 pm December 29 to check if they took appointments and advised walk-in only. I asked about wait time, the polite receptionist said it was a 15 to 20minute wait. Took my sister there arrived about 4:30 pm and was told by a rude receptionist they close at 7 and all the rooms were full and the few patients in waiting room is all they would be able to handle before closing. I returned to my car and to verify I called the same place...phoned again. Call was answered and hung up. Would NOT recommend wasting your time going here.
Overall, our visit here wasn’t bad. We were seen in about an hour, and once we were brought back, we went straight to a room. There was one nurse and one receptionist working, and after about 15–20 minutes the PA came in. They were friendly, professional, and clear in explaining that we needed to go to the emergency room because this facility didn’t have the equipment needed for our situation. The staff was kind and the building was clean, so no complaints there. I just wish the facility had more of the proper equipment on-site so patients wouldn’t have to be redirected elsewhere after waiting.
This is a rundown facility and service is horrible as well. Urgent clinic can handle about 10 patients a day, severely understaffed. I would recommend unity point or Methodist you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Mercy charges enormous amounts of money and won’t reinvest any back into facilities and staff. Technology is outdated and patients are not a priority. We have better choices like unity point that has advanced technologies and facilities to match. Leave this dinosaur in the past where it belongs.
I was treated with the upmost urgency and care coming in with a very low heart beat. I was sent to the ER and the next day received a pacemaker. Office staff at this Urgent Care responsed quickly alerting the doctor. Doctor and attending nurse found the problem on an EKG and expressed the urgency I go to the ER. I declined my need for an ambulance transfer, so, I was advised to head for the Mercy West ER with NO stops along the way. I feel very grateful for their concern, expertise and care. I would not hesitate going there again if I found myself needing to. I owe them much Thanks...
I’m really disappointed with how poorly this Premier owned MercyOne location has been maintained. The clinic was physically dirty and dingy. It didn’t feel like a clean or professional medical environment at all. Most of the staff weren’t wearing name tags, including the person I assume was a Medical Assistant and even the doctor. After waiting over an hour, the doctor finally came in but barely spent any time with us. It felt rushed and dismissive. If you need to go to one of the Premier-owned urgent cares, I highly recommend skipping this location and heading to the one in Ankeny instead. It’s a completely different, much better experience.
