Andre was knowledgeable, kind, hospitable and one of the best waiters we’ve ever had. We had the oysters which were perfect!. Two steaks which were cooked perfect the mashed potatoes were good. The peppercorn gravy was delicious. The wine was paired great for the meal and we loved the fact that there was a January special. We will definitely be back!

This was such a great dinner. They always bring truffle popcorn to the table and it is so good. It's a great fun start to a great experience. I started with baked onion soup, which was incredible. The parmesan in the soup was so good. We shared the cowboy ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. Great bark on the edge and juicy and tender inside. We added mashed potatoes that were so creamy and melt in your mouth, and onion rings which have a great panko outside and great tasting onion inside. Modern Steak is a wonderful place for dinner and the staff are fantastic.

I had the pleasure of dining at Modern Steak Southport on Monday, October 6th, 2025, with some colleagues after a long day of traveling for work, and it was exactly what we needed! The ambiance was perfect for unwinding after a hectic day—relaxed yet upscale, with a welcoming and comfortable vibe. The service was top-notch, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We were all impressed by the quality of the food. Every dish was flavorful, and the steak was cooked to perfection! It was so refreshing to find a place where you can enjoy a great meal while also having a relaxed, cozy environment to de-stress and enjoy good company. If you're looking for a great spot to relax and enjoy a fantastic meal, Modern Steak Southport definitely delivers. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Calgary!

Overall, a pretty good steakhouse that delivers on quality and flavor. The steaks were cooked to absolutely tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. The sides were equally impressive and added a fun twist to the meal. The lobster poutine was rich and indulgent, while the onion ring tower was crispy, flavorful, and a great sharing dish. To top it off, Modern Steak also boasts a solid wine selection that pairs beautifully with their menu. Definitely worth a visit for anyone craving a great steak experience with some creative sides.

Visited on the 7 th to celebrate, what a worthy one! Excellent across the board, Hailey our server is easily 5/5 and the food was really good. Definitely coming back. Went for the date night, but we did 4 sides, 2 steaks, 2 extra appetizers and took advantage of the 50% wine over $100 deal. Their selection is vast! Extra thank you to Steve!
