Ian has taught my son piano for years and is a phenomenal teacher! He is patient and balances teaching fundamentals with allowing the student to explore their own style. He doesn't force songs, but rather suggests and encourages students to play things they're interested in. I highly recommend him!

My daughter has been taking lessons with Mr Ian for a year now and she absolutely loves her piano lessons. He keeps the class fun and engaging for the kids. She has progressed very well in the last year that she has been learning with Mr Ian and would highly recommend him for your child wanting to learn piano.

My son has been taught by Ian for over 4 years now and he is a kind and effective teacher, capable of teaching students of all ages. He shows talent and skill of musician and a piano and guitar teacher, and is flexible with how his students learn, able to adjust accordingly to a pace that works well for them. Ian is also open to teaching a multitude a different genres on piano, usually asking his students if there is a particular song they would like to learn and even when that song is mastered, he’ll review it with the student again in a following class to keep it fresh in their heads. Highly recommend him for piano and guitar.

Our daughter started taking lessons with Mr. Ian this summer and we have been immediately impressed. Ian is very communicative and lets us know exactly what she needs to be successful, as well as updating us often on her progress. We have not had a piano teacher yet where I felt like the process was so collaborative, and I have been very happy to be a part of her piano journey. She also looks forward to her classes with Mr. Ian and does not protest when we ask her to practice!!

We've had Ian teach one of our two boys piano and the other guitar, both from childhood to teenage years and I could not recommend him more! So great and patient with kids and adults alike. In my opinion he is the perfect combination of discipline without trauma, while making sure the kids grow up with a genuine love of music. The best!
