Mr. Sam is an amazing music teacher! My son and I both take piano lessons with him, and he’s incredibly kind, patient, and talented. He takes the time to explain things clearly and makes learning music fun and relaxed. His voice lessons are wonderful too — he really brings out the best in his students. Ms. Heidi is also very understanding and accommodating making it very easy to book classes and whenever we need to reschedule a class. Music Steps in Jersey City has been such a great experience for both of us!
Ms. Heidi and her team are amazing. My three children have learned with Ms. Heidi for over five years and we all love her!
My 5-year-old daughter has been taking piano lessons with Ms. Jonida since April, and we’ve been so impressed with her progress! We practice at home for 20–30 minutes each day, and she’s retained so much of what she’s learned! Ms. Jonida is patient, encouraging, and great with young learners. In addition, my 11-year-old niece started ukulele lessons with Mr. Sam—and the results have been just as impressive. She was confidently playing some of her favorite songs in just a few weeks. Mr. Sam is kind, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate about teaching. Booking lessons was always easy, thanks to Heidi, one of the owners. She was very accommodating and friendly to work with, especially when it came to rescheduling when needed. Beyond the quality instruction, the environment at Music Steps JC adds to the overall positive experience. The facility is clean and welcoming, and the main lobby has a small play area that my 2-year-old absolutely loves while we wait. Altogether, we completed a total of 20 lessons, and if my family wasn’t moving, we would definitely continue. We’re so grateful for the time we’ve had at Music Steps JC, and I highly recommend it to any family looking for a warm and supportive music school :-)
As parents, we couldn’t be more pleased with the exceptional music education our daughter has received at Music Steps. She has been attending lessons here for a few years now since she was 5 or 6 years old, and the experience has been incredible. Ms. Heidi strikes the perfect balance between being firm and kind, fostering both discipline and a genuine love for music. Her approach has made learning an enjoyable journey, keeping our daughter motivated and enthusiastic. Thanks to Ms. Heidi, practicing piano is never a chore—it’s something our daughter truly enjoys. For us, the most rewarding part is knowing she’s gaining a beautiful and valuable skill that will last a lifetime. We couldn’t ask for a better music school. Thank you, Music Steps!
My 5 yr old has had a great experience learning piano here with Miss Ester for the last 5 months. Her teacher is kind, patient, and professional and keeps my daughter engaged and excited to play piano. She is atune to my child's abilities and adjusts the lessons so she feels challenged but not overwhelmed. The location is super convenient as well next to the grove street PATH. I would highly recommend!
