NOBC is THE best boxing gym in the world. This place is not just a gym. It’s a community. The gym is open to all skill levels. If you’re looking to learn to box, get in shape, and have fun doing it this is the place. The coaches are the best at what they do.
Nothing but love for NOBC. The staff and members are very supportive and welcoming. Lots of talented people in this gym who want to help you achieve your goals. I have had a very positive experience coming here over the last year.
Friend and I travel and visit gyms when in town this is the one to train at if you’re in N.O. Good environment to train.
Saw a video of the owner disrespecting potential customers because he was having withdrawals from a coke binge. You can find the video online. Also, be careful at this gym. If you pay for training up front, they will rip you off and not honor what you paid for. The attitude and behavior displayed here resemble those of brash fighters who often get outclassed by humble professionals like George St-Pierre. EDIT I haven’t been to Louisiana in nearly 20 years. My review is based on a video I’ve seen where you the owner in the most unprofessional way treated two potential clients. I also saw the conversation of one of your trainers in text, acknowledge getting paid $1000 for services and refusing to refund or honor the training. The fact you respond with empty threats (which you obviously are too stupid to know the law) and respond with lies about who you think I am, just further proves you have no integrity and are just trying to justify your behavior. There are multiple reviews over the span of the last 7 years that further substantiate my claims. Your condescending response proves even further why nobody should do business with you. Champions and winners don’t act the way you did or the way your trainer did. I hope this serves as a lesson that when you provide a service to the general public, we will hold you accountable for being dishonest and won’t hesitate to help people avoid being treated the way you treated that couple you harassed in the video. I highly recommend anyone considering this business for training to be very careful. If you have a bad experience, it seems they will try to bully and intimidate you should you want to tell anyone about it. Take the feed back, self reflect and like my guy Joey Swoll says “you need to do better! Mind your own business!” ;)
I have been going here for a couple years now and I like that there is something for everybody, it's very welcoming. If you want to do it for just fitness, or you want to participate in the sport as a hobby and spar but not compete, those are options whether you want to go the classes or just train on your own. Or if you are interested in becoming an amateur fighter or even more, there are fighters who train and coach here too.
