I cannot say enough positive things about this clinic. After many poor experiences and inappropriate diagnostics elsewhere -- Dr. Shuler (and his assistant Mary) really treat your pet as their own. Further, the team knows how to give multiple financial options and doesn't fuss when wanting scripts sent to Costco. Pet care is complicated and I appreciate their attention to detail, non-judgmental stance, following through when they say they will, and their calm and thorough approach to my boys needs. Even when I'm losing my mind days before his surgery -- they deal with me with such grace and compassion. It's important to note that this practice is actually locally owned. It's not owned by private equity or otherwise. The person in charge is... Dr. Shuler. This was important to us in the care of our pets.

When i tell you I genuinely never write a review, I hate doing it honestly! But wow. I am absolutely moved by the care that goes into this place. I take my dog, sally, here, and I love that they go with whatever she is comfortable with because they want her to like going. But even more than that, I recently had to put my cat down here, and I am so grateful to the entire team. They were communicative, honest, and above all extremely empathetic to the situation. The tech (i dont remember her name and im still upset with myself over it) snuggled her and gave her a kiss on the head after we had said our goodbyes, assuring us she would be safe. while it may not seem like much, having someone else to grieve with meant so much in the moment. On top of that, Dr. Flannery made a donation to the Arbor Day foundation in honor of her, and they sent flowers as well. The care and love that they put into these animals, and even the pet parents, means the world, and i will continue coming here over and over for any of my pets needs because of the empathy that they share with their animals.

Hard to find a veterinarian clinic that works as hard to be as patient oriented and friendly as NW Neighborhood. Most vet visits are some form of an emergency and inevitably on the weekend or over a holiday. My dog was injured the night after Christmas and we spent the night at the emergency vet. I was given a same day appointment when I called NW Neighborhood on Monday and, because her condition declined, one of the vets fit my dog in for a procedure the Friday after New Years. We’re grateful for their service and their expertise. My dog doesn’t shake and pant when we visit and the waiting room has dogs happily nosing one another. The best!

Frenchie owner here. My dog went to this clinic for four years. During that time, they recommended surgery twice for cracked nails that ultimately wasn’t needed, he only required a supplement. The vet also made it clear I clearly didn’t care for my dog if I didn’t do the surgery. He also once needed his anal glands drained, which was a horrible experience. This is also extremely painful for them. When we asked how to prevent it from happening again, their recommendation was to have it done every few weeks or monthly. Instead, we added a daily supplement and never had the issue again. It’s been well over a year. All good. The final straw was calling today to have him checked for an upset stomach and to rule out Giardia, since we live downtown. They wouldn’t see him without an updated exam, and their next availability was over a week out. Every interaction felt driven solely by profit rather than genuine animal care. Very disappointing. Great location, but we’ll definitely be going elsewhere. Good riddance.

I cannot say enough good things about NW Neighborhood Veterinary Hospital - they are the absolute best. The front desk always promptly answers calls/emails/texts and are so kind, the vet techs are all so gentle and treat your pet like their own and the doctors are all kind, patient, and so thoughtful with their care. We have worked with Sydney and Dr. Lambruschi the most, but have interacted with multiple members of the team and they are all wonderful. As first time dog owners we have had lots of questions and the team is so thoughtful at providing answers and care tips without unnecessary visits or charges. An example of them going above and beyond was last night we called right before close on a Friday as our pup had some post-surgery symptoms - the team promptly reviewed everything, provided us with recommendations over the phone and reassured our concerns before the weekend - we were so grateful. Thank you all for everything you do 💕🐾
