Was craving some good katsu curry. The curry itself was great the chicken was really tuff and chewy which was a first for me. If they fix the chicken would definitely give it a 4/5
Amazing range of choices in the fun vibe Asian food court. Recommend spicy tonkatsu ramen bowl! Multiple choices at other restaurants in the shared food court.
Omatase Japanese Kitchen is one of my favorite Japanese restaurant in the valley. The curry is rich, perfectly spiced, and had a comforting depth of flavor that made every bite delightful. The staff are friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend this spot to anyone craving authentic Japanese curry. Update: the sushi is fantastic as well, fresh and high quality.
If you love Japanese Curry, this is a must try! The udon here is good as well. Curry is beef-based so you can just get it plain with rice but adding chicken katsu is always a great way to elevate it! My tip is to tell them to keep the chicken katsu on a separate plate or on the side to avoid it being soggy as I eat. There’s no spice level and it’s non-spicy. The only thing I wish they would have would be option to add cheese and corn on the curry like how Zen in vegas has it. The price is a bit high but the portion reflects it. I can usually make 2 meals out of one order so nothing to complain about. It’s inside the Asiana food hall so it’s a quiet place. Since the food hall is smaller and less popular than H-mart down the street, it can be ideal of big groups. Just need to watch noise level if you come with a big group.
Omatase Japanese Kitchen is a taste of home. Being from the South Bay in LA I have been missing authentic Japanese food! This is the first curry udon I have found in the valley and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed our roll and tempura udon as well. The menu is expansive and you can tell they put a lot of care and love into their dishes. The owner is very kind and shared that they moved here from Torrance. It is always so special to connect with people who are from the same area I am from. I can’t wait to come back!
