They always have HEALTHY fish and a great variety 😁
Just went in to look at buying one of their rats. I’ve gotten rats here before, however in the past couple years quality has definitely gone down. They had mama rats with newborn babies in tanks held on the floor where all the other rats are, which puts too much stress on them. You don’t see them held in the front room after giving birth at other stores for a reason. When looking at the small rats there were dead adolescents that had been dead for a while. This is very disappointing. We had called twice today making sure rats were in stock, and the employees had plenty of notice that we were coming in to at least clean/check the rat enclosures before we came in. Even if you are just buying rats for feeding purposes, this is neglect. Would love to return if the store gets their act together again.
While I generally provide favorable reviews for small businesses, I must make an exception in this case. I purchased two live rats for my snakes, and prior to the transaction, the store employee assured me they could be returned if necessary. Upon arriving home, I discovered one rat was significantly injured. Consequently, neither of my snakes showed interest in feeding, which was acceptable. However, when I attempted to return the rats, the same employee was uncooperative, denying his previous statement and offering only to repurchase them instead. I have never experienced such issues with DFW Reptarium is where I usually go. But since relocating out to Alvarado Tx the drive has been significant. Moving forward, I will patronize more professional establishments and would caution potential customers about this store's unprofessional practices. I recognize that many retailers maintain "All Sales Final" policies, but when an employee explicitly states otherwise, it creates a problematic situation. Unfortunately, this matter remained unresolved.
BEST PET STORE IN DFW. The owner is amazing, OG in animal care and breeding. Got 20 shrimp for 5 bucks. Highly recommend over big box stores give this man your business! Prices are on point and the variety is out of the world! Only shopping here from now. Btw, that picture is only a 1/4 of his store!
Hands down best fish store in the area. Great selection of a variety of fish. Fair prices. This is very much an "old school" styled pet store really with a good selection of birds and rodents but I am always here for the fish. They have a decent stock of Saltwater fish and crustaceans but not as well stocked as freshwater fish. They have a good selection of peaceful schooling and community fish for the casual keep and a great selection of C/A, S/A and African Cichlids and puffers and other rare and exotic fish. They usually have a good selection of rocks to choose from but have no coral or live plants.
