I had dinner there Sunday night after being stranded on the GO trains because of the blizzard. The all you can eat was everything I could’ve asked for. The host and server were both exceptional. I hope the ownership sees this so they can note that it was Sunday Jan 25th and the two gentlemen working the close were awesome and improved the experience. The host told me to get all you can eat for the value and to try a variety as well as recommended the teriyaki steak bites which were both great choices.
seriously the greatest AYCE in DT Kitchener! amazing ambience; we enjoyed the décor and overall volume. There is something for everyone with plenty of options even for lunch. The Kaarage is the tastiest chicken ever and the salmon was satisfactory. Staff were all quick and attentive, our server added to our experience. Republik is our new favourite.
Went out for Lunch here for my daughter's birthday. The staff was so friendly, sweet and very attentive. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, very modern and just the right hint of Asian Decales. We were the only ones there at first, and we're seated straight away. We ordered our cocktails. They some appetizers, Veggie Spring Rolls and Crispy Chicken Wontons. For our Entrées, we ordered Chicken Yakidoba, Shrimp Yakisoba, Thai Sweet Chilli Chicken and General Tao chicken. The food was amazing, so flavorful and just the right amount of heat. Our food arrived fast and with lovely smiles. We had 3 people attending our table. The service was friendly, warm and sweet. Loved our experience here, I highly recommend this place and will be returning soon again. Thank you to all the staff who sang "Happy birthday" to my daughter and gave her a piece of Green tea cheesecake 🎂
Lunch buffet under 27 dollars was advertised outside of the restaurant. The idea of an “Asian Fusion” caught our interest. We came in at around 1 pm on a Saturday, and the place was empty except for us at the beginning, but we set our expectations. The restaurant had friendly waiters ready to take our order and bring our food. The first order came, it was a shrimp tempura but it was cold inside, we weren’t off to a great start. The spring rolls were good they were vegetarian style. The biggest negative was the sushi, it was not sushi rice, and the fish quality was not great. The tuna in the spicy rolls were ground up mush with spicy orange sauce, likely to hide the fish. A good hand roll should have crispy seaweed wrapped around a nice piece of fish with vinegared sushi rice, unfortunately this was the worst hand roll we ever had, the nori looked soggy and sad and the taste was not great, we never ordered another after that. The vegetables were good, we ordered greens a couple of times though it was a bit oily. The best things on the menu for us were: karage, bokchoy, edamame, mochi ice, California roll, and teriyaki salmon. The mochi ice was good, and it was an enjoyable desert on the menu. We were there for about 2 hours, and saw two other groups. The lanterns and decor around the room were neat, but the random Asian lady in various outfits pasted everywhere on the restaurant walls to imply “Asian fusion”, was a bit tacky. The quiet atmosphere of the restaurant was appreciated. My opinion is that if you want sushi or thai, pick one and not necessarily both. At the end we paid for two persons, it was about $67, and for the price it was very reasonable for buffet. If you are in it for just filling up your stomach and not food quality, then I can suggest as a possible try, but only for its price point. I don’t know how the other locations of this franchise compare, but this was our experience at the this location. My score for food is 3/5 Service was 4/5 Atmosphere was 3/5
Tried another restaurant at downtown King. Entering the place, I thought: whoa! This would be a good place for meeting people. A date perhaps. Well, the place was clean and the service was fast (LOL the place was empty when I came in, and it was 4pm). Anyhow. Food was tolerable. Taste - 5/10 Plating and Presentation - 8/10 Value for money - 7/10 Ambiance - 9/10 Cleanliness - 9/10 Washroom - 7/10 Republik Asian Eatery and Bar (305 King St. West) Would I take someone on a date here? Yes. Maybe i’ll try to order another set of food that I might actually enjoy.
