Jim answers phone.:: not helpful at all. Zero personality as well as zero directions. Guide, never introduced himself.. his dogs name was Bee… No info on river or City from guide… 4 tubes tied together… but you want ME to hang on to your kayak with my hand as you guide!?!? Rate was 79-99 they said… random pricing… whatever they feel they can charge is how it felt. River Float was fine… one of the girls got hurts (holding guides kayak which pulled her off and into rock) You need to figure out another option cuz your customers holding ship together is not proper!!! L $200 for two peeps.. Meh.:
We had a great guided kayak tour down the Truckee from Mayberry Park to the Riverwalk! Tim is a great guide! The inflatables were a little hard to maneuver but it was all pretty great. Thanks for the great day, Sierra Adventures.
Weird place. Me and my family went there yesterday with a couple of friends, when we were getting out and we were done we had to climb over fence… my nana is old and Tim told us to climb it and Jim said no they aren’t supposed to do that but my nana had to go across it and she was scared for her life. On the phone with Jim he changed the times from 10 to 1. Tim said we were gonna poke an eye out and he was making the little kids uncomfortable one of the lady’s apologized for how they were. The bad reviews are very true. DO NOT RECOMMEND
When we took a trip to Reno in Sept. of 2019, we did the Donner Party tour with Sierra Adventures. They were great. The guy (forgive me I don't remember his name) picked us up from the hotel, we went to the office to sign the agreement and for him to get things in order for the trip. Probably about 30 minutes. It wasn't a big deal it was a nice view of the stream going through town. The whole drive was a couple of hours around the whole area starting in Reno and then driving almost half way around Lake Tahoe. The tour guide had snacks, drinks and a lot of information about buildings and places. The half way was at the Donner museum which was interesting (not as much as the actual tour), the car broke down but (can't remember why) we took a break at a nearby seating area till it was squared away. They we got on our way. It was really fun and one of the highlights of our trip. I would definitely use them again for another tour of the area.
We took the Snowmobile tour. I’m 64 and enjoyed the hell out of it. So much FUN! We were picked up at the casino and driven an hour to the tour starting point. Tour lasted about 2 1/2 hours. They also provided snacks & beverages for the trip back to hotel. The staff was courteous. Our tour guide was patient with the first-timers, but was very skilled & non-beginners would find it challenging. He was friendly & generous with his smile. I would so recommend this trip.
