We have had two private sessions with Speak Dog for our re-homed Italian Greyhound and the results have been fantastic so far. Betty is so caring and invested, she clearly loves what she does. Our sessions have given us the opportunity to understand how to make sense of what our dog is trying to tell us. Instead of “training the dog” or having a battle of wills, we are working with her and building her confidence. Betty is a fantastic facilitator, her insights are building the confidence of us humans too! She doesn’t pressure and gives us the time and space to practice on our own for true change. We’re looking forward to continuing to work together to encourage an even more confident and happy pooch.
I had a fantastic experience with Betty at Speaking Dog. From the very beginning, her communication was excellent — clear, thoughtful, and easy to understand. Betty is friendly, professional, and genuinely does “speak dog.” She took the time to explain the behaviours of my Jack Russell and Cocker Spaniel in a way that really made sense, helping me understand why they were behaving the way they were. More importantly, she provided practical tools and techniques to remedy the unwanted behaviours. Betty is an absolute gem and brings so much expertise and knowledge to every class she holds. As a new puppy parent we would be lost without her, and we will continue to join her classes and learn from her ongoing well past the puppy stage!!! Thank you Betty!!
Highly recommend ‘Speak Dog puppy school’ run by Betty. The course was engaging and extremely effective. Each class is packed multiple lessons and valuable advice. The small class sizes means each puppy can be seen by Betty and different puppy temperaments can be easily managed within the space at the Annandale Veterinary Hospital location. The end of class controlled social time for the puppies were always a safe and happy experience with all interactions monitored by Betty to prevent any one puppy being overwhelmed or left out. Betty’s post-class emails helped summarise the content and provide really helpful links to practice at home. I looked forward to the class and our puppy clearly enjoyed them. We went on to book in the ‘surviving adolescence’ classes as well.
I had the pleasure of having Betty come for a house visit to help with my anxious little dog, Blanche. After just one session, I learned so much and gained valuable skills to help Blanche feel more confident and secure. I can already see a noticeable difference in her behaviour! Betty was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also so kind and patient with both of us. Her approach was thoughtful and tailored to Blanche's needs. I highly recommend Betty to anyone seeking guidance with their dogs—she’s fantastic!
