always wanted to try this omakase spot & have only heard good things about it - so happy that my bf took me here for my birthday dinner! 😋⭐️ easily one of my favorite omakase places in NYC - the quality of the fish is unmatched, service was fantastic as well. our favorite has to be the wagyu nigiri and eel - but every bite was delicious and we were honestly shocked how consistently good each piece was. would definitely come back here for a special occasion - def on a pricier side but totally worth it!
Booked a chef's counter omakase experience for a dinner in June. Certainly a high priced experience, but you get what you pay for. From the selection of fish imported all around the world to the exceptional craft of the chef to each piece, to the attention of all the servers making us feel a part of the experience, I can see why it deserves their Michelin star status. The experience was well curated by the entire staff.
We came to Sushi Nakazawa to celebrate our engagement, and it couldn’t have been a more memorable experience. While there are many affordable omakase spots popping up around New York these days, this one truly stands apart in quality and precision. Every piece of sushi showcased the chef’s artisan touch — clean, balanced, and beautifully crafted — especially the raw shrimp, salmon, and scallop, which were absolute standouts. The live shrimp was prepared right in front of us, still moving moments before it became sushi — incredibly fresh and delicate in flavor. Even the dessert left an impression: the Japanese melon served at the end was unbelievably sweet and fragrant, the perfect finish to an exquisite meal. The chefs and servers were all warm and professional, and they made our celebration feel truly special — even lighting a candle to mark the occasion. A wonderful place for any special occasion — refined, heartfelt, and worth every penny. Truly a perfect meal for our engagement celebration. Just make sure to reserve in advance, and everything else will be taken care of once you arrive at the place.
New York trip. Hubby took me to this Sushi restaurant and we ordered Omakase. Surprisingly price was very decent for also being 1 Michelin Star. There were 2 selections for Omakase we picked the higher one which only $220 per person adding truffle shave on one of the Sushi piece was $35. So total $255 per person not bad at all. We ordered a bottle Sake $135. Food tasted very good. The Omakase included 3 appetizers and 17 Sushi pieces tasted very fresh. Staffs were nice from host to our servers. We uber there. Never drive in NY cuz parking and driving is crazy lol. We made rsvp so we got in no problem. Totally recommended here.
It’s pricey but worth it. We did the chef’s omakase. Nice variety of tastes and textures, beautifully presented. We also added a caviar piece. The service was impeccable. We marveled at how seamlessly they cleaned the table without interrupting us. The ambiance was serene and sophisticated, exactly what you’d expect for a place of this caliber. Definitely worthy of a Michelin star.
