We just left the clinic this morning and had to make the difficult decision to put our dog down. The decision took us 3 hours, weighing all the options and cost of intervention. Dr. Goldberg and the staff were incredibly patient with us and took the time to explain things several different times. They were incredibly compassionate and understanding. And it was eventually revealed through an ultrasound in office there was no hope of recovery. We are sad but also incredibly thankful for the loving care they demonstrated in this difficult time.
Highly recommend for all your vet needs! I have visited for a regular check-up, an emergency, and a health concern. I received exceptional care at each visit. The staff are knowledgeable and kind. I received a follow up text after each appointment to ensure my dog’s condition was improving. We also received test results from a culture the same day. They are also very clear on pricing and do not pressure any decisions. Thank you Scottsdale Vet!
The staff at this clinic does immaculate work and on top of that, provides S+ Tier quality care around the clock. First and foremost, they remain kind, empathetic, and compassionate despite often being at this clinic and experiencing 12+ hours of seeing and treating scared and sick animals and consoling and educating their scared owners. That is a feat not many of us would be able to accomplish with such grace, so please give them their laurels and extra kindness if you and your pet(s) have to come see them. I want to speak on, and positively- there was a slight miscommunication I experienced that the front desk person helped me handle; they remained kind, understanding, and supportive throughout the navigation process to rectify the issue and they resolved things for me and my sick lil dude amazingly. I appreciate them very much for the extra care with my feelings and needs. Next, the techs I got to interact with- I respect and cherish immensely because my poor guy was experiencing some pretty concerning respiratory distress and I was incredibly worried throughout and somewhat distracted by that, they made me forget all about being scared as heck with their warmth towards myself and my animal. The bedside manner, if you will, is quality across the board here. You would never know these people are running on caffeine and a prayer/vibes (which I suggest we should elect to keep them in our thoughts regardless of denomination or values one keeps, just sayin’). My cat is very skittish and he was so, so comfortable. I was told he received some pretty invasive treatments very passively so that alone, I can tell you personally, speaks volumes about the absolute quality of treatment your animal will experience here. To provide context to the photos below of my guy- he’s not hiding like usual and he was purring almost the entire time! He snuggled the staff which was a pleasant and big surprise, and only stopped purring briefly when he was getting stethoscoped which it’s almost like he knew! It may be silly, but thinking on it makes me a little emotional because he is my world and seeing him comfortable and interacting so bravely with strangers especially while sick and getting poked and prodded from all angles is a huge deal. I cannot express the depth of my gratitude to these people adequately. Thank you again, everyone.
The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic saved my kitten’s life in July. My spicy gal, Bessie, indulged in the temptations of inedible objections leading to an obstruction in her intestines. Diagnosing this took a few visits and a hospital stay because she was small (thank you for finding the culprit, Dr. Baxley!). Of course, I was in shambles, having seen her immediate physical decline. Payton, the vet tech, was an angel and had my back emotionally the whole time. She sat on the floor as I sobbed and listened to my story. Dr. Gans suggested surgery but I couldn’t quite afford a surgery of that cost. That’s when she suggested having on of their surgeons-in-training complete the procedure with her supervising. It was a gamble, as Bessie was extremely young and underweight. Something told me I could trust her and so I gave the go ahead for the surgery. Bessie recovered brilliantly and she is as spry and crazy as ever now. I was terrified of losing my kitten, but this vet clinic fought tooth and nail to save her. Thank you so much SVC!!! Highly recommend. Not only did they provide great care for my senior dog in heart failure that always seemed to have something going on, but they really proved themselves when it came time to put my sweet girl Bebe down. They surpassed my expectations. The staff was very empathetic and kind (shout out to Coco inparticular! She was the absolute sweetest, I can't thank her enough) I now have the most beautiful urn and clay paw print from the facility that she was cremated at. I had them back within a week. The cherry on top was the text I received about 2 weeks after she passed. They had more paw prints that they had taken after she passed. It even included a nose print. Thank you so very much to the staff of the Scottsdale Vet Clinic.
