They roofed my house and repaired/replaced a damaged, leaky shingle on my detached garage roof. Steven handled everything professionally and responded to a follow-up repair request promptly. He made sure that the job was done properly and the follow-up in a timely manner. He was always accessible and made sure that we were fully satisfied. We highly recommend 5-Star roofing as a reliable roofing contractor based on our experience.
Update: 5 star went above and beyond to help fix the issues I had. Someone was out today to fix and repair the gutter damage and the billing department found the glitch that was causing the invoice discrepancy. I would say despite having the issues I experienced their ability and commitment to fixing the issues is really amazing. Thank you for all your help and your commitment to solving problems. Original: I really wish I had a better experience with this company. The sales guy was amazing and walked us through each step. Once we paid our half deposit we were scheduled three weeks out for install. The first problem came when the wrong color shingle was delivered. We had changed colors 24 hours after the contract was signed and for weeks we made sure the shingle change was put in. So the day before install having the wrong shingles arrive was very stressful. The next day the installers came and started right away. We had the siding replaced prior to the roof and the roofers damaged many boards while removing the shingles. The painter we were working with was kind enough to fix each one of the scuff marks for them. They finished the roof all in one day and it looked nice. Then came the gutters, I had to call three times to figure out when the gutters would be scheduled. Then the once the gutters were done the inspector said they were put in too low so they had to come out and rehang each one. When they did this they lifted the drip edge off the roof and we had to ask them to bring the drip edge back down because lifted a drip edge does nothing. They also damaged a board reinstalling the gutters that has not been fixed. While all of this was happening we were discussing the remaining balance because we were eager to close this project out. However, they had many things on the invoice that were not done due to the siding installer having done them. When we asked for the invoice to be revised I noticed numbers started shifting but the price coming off wasn't reflecting the amount listed on the previous invoice. For example, the 6 ft of trim we had in the invoice when removed did not equal the previous invoices amount they listed for the 6 ft of trim. This has led to many back and forth with the company and now at two weeks after completion I am still not getting an accurate final bill. As someone who is paying over 20,000 for the roof and gutters I am saddened and angry that this is the experience I am having.
I am very pleased to provide an excellent review of 5 Star Roofing. From the beginning, the process was smooth and professional. Gabe did a great job explaining options and providing guidance as we had many questions about which direction we should go to replace our roof. Scheduling for both the roof repair and siding and trim and gutter work were all seamless and I was very happy with the quality of the work. They even coordinated with our painter, an outside contractor. Without hesitation, I recommend this company for anyone who needs a new roof, siding repair, or new gutters.
I’ll start by saying that the roof looks great. I think the installers did an excellent job—5 stars if you go by that alone. Also, Garrett was great to work with up front getting the quote and lining things up. He was probably the main reason we decided to go with 5 Star Roofing rather than another company that provided a quote. The reason I’m only giving 3 stars is the amount of debris left on the property. The pictures speak for themselves. They had someone come out at least 3 times to collect nails, metal strips, and underlayment from around the property. Each time, I walked around for 5-10 minutes anfterwards and collected handfuls more (including 2 nails in a sandbox our kids play in). It’s amazing we didn’t end up with a nail in a tire. We also found chicken bones and banana peels in our yard… based on this experience I probably would have selected another company. I hope they fix this for future customers.
We needed a new roof and contacted 5 Star Roofing. Our experience with them was Awesome. Christopher came out and inspected our roof and gave us a very fair price. Randy, the project manager, was so nice and easy to work with. He called me earlier in the week and wanted to start the roof a day earlier because of the forecast at the end of the week. That was such a good call because they were done and gone before the first drops of rain started. Jack, the site supervisor, was amazing he made sure everything was done right. He told me before they started that our roof would be done right and that they take no shortcuts. Our home was built in 1922 and had 1x4 boards instead of plywood on the roof. Only plywood was on the newer addition. Jack made sure every cracked, broken, or rotten board was replaced. I usually don't write reviews, but 5 Star Roofing was amazing. My wife and I are so pleased with how our home looks now.
