Went to this location to pick up one specific item. It was in one of the locked cabinets. Asked multiple employees if they could unlock it for me, all of them said they wouldn’t be able to and would page someone who could help. After asking 4 different employees and having them page overhead 4 times someone was finally able to come help and looked very unimpressed, rudely saying “what” when finally coming. Took me over 30 minutes to get one item (that was less than $30 - not sure why it was locked). By far worst Canadian tire location in the city. Avoid at all costs.
I drove from out of town and they couldn't find 2 of my online orders! The person had called in sick that day also; but the manager covering the desk was rude and then called for back up help. I was surprised by how rude your employees were when I indicated you need a better system for your online orders. No one answers the phone; there is NO number on the assigned parking stalls signs outside either. Not my fault you cant find it. I have the confirmations for them. I wasnt waiting around 15-20 minutes and cancelled the orders. Do better! I will be calling head office as well... sure we are going thru something and its the holidays, but no way to be rude to your paying customers! I won't be back to this location
Huge store, so much stuff. Great help from some workers to find items. However, I find out at the checkout that the 2 for 1 things are not on sale for another 2 days. Check out lady was not happy when I asked about the 2 items that came up separately (without discount),said I read the wrong flyer... But the signs said 2 for one and there were a lot of signs. Apparently I didn't read the fine print...??🤔
Their online shopping is absolutely useless and will drive you insane. Day 1: I paid for tires online. Not “reserved”, not “requested” - PAID. Day 2: The app shows “READY FOR PICKUP.” Great, right? I book my installation for Day 4. Day 4: I show up, appointment booked, money gone, tires sitting right there in the store. But guess what? No magical pickup email. Not in spam, not in trash, nowhere. All I have is my app and website showing my order, QR code, confirmation number, and the giant bold words: “READY FOR PICKUP.” The tech admits the tires are there, admits I paid, admits the order says “ready.” But instead of handing them over, he shrugs and says: “We can only release them if you show the pickup email.” So let me get this straight: your own app, your own website, your own order system — completely meaningless? The actual, physical tires are sitting 20 feet away from me, but I’m turned away like some scammer because I don’t have one specific email that never even arrived. What’s the point of online shopping if you ignore your own system? Why even have an app if the only thing that matters is some glitchy email? Wasted my time, my money, and my patience. And they made me feel like I was the problem
I recently visited this Canadian Tire store to shop for cookware sets (12/19/24 around 8:15 pm). While browsing, I noticed some items displayed high up, out of reach. I found a step ladder nearby and used it to check the display. Shortly after, a staff member approached me and scolded me, saying the ladder was not for customer use. I calmly responded, suggesting they place a sign on the ladder to inform customers if that’s the case. Although I wasn't arguing, her tone made me feel embarrassed. She then asked, “Can I help you with something?” I replied, “No thanks, I’m good for now.” To my surprise, she rudely said, “I don’t talk to you!” When I asked her to repeat herself, she said it again with no hint of apology. I later realized she was addressing another customer, but the way she spoke to me felt unnecessarily dismissive and rude. I told her how unprofessional she was, but she didn’t seem to care. Feeling upset, I walked around the store to cool off. I then noticed the same staff member talking to a colleague, seemingly laughing about the situation. I decided to address the issue at the customer service desk. I suggested they put up signs on the ladders to avoid confusion and shared my unpleasant experience with the staff member. At this point, the man she was speaking to introduced himself as the manager on duty. However, instead of apologizing or addressing my concerns, he defended the staff member, claiming she wasn’t a native English speaker and wasn’t being rude. I explained that I, too, am not a native English speaker, but her tone and words were still unacceptable. As a customer, I shouldn’t be made to feel embarrassed or disrespected. What frustrated me further was when the manager suggested I should use "common sense" regarding the ladder. This comment felt condescending and dismissive. It became clear to me that he wasn’t interested in ensuring a positive customer experience. For comparison, I went to Home Depot afterward, and their ladders were clearly labeled (see attached picture). Some were even meant for customer use! Why couldn’t this store take the same approach? Also, why place displays so high up that customers can’t access them? Despite this disappointing experience, I still made my purchase because I needed the cookware set. However, the lack of professionalism and care from both the staff and management made the entire shopping experience unpleasant. I’m now strongly considering shopping at a different branch next time.
