The wife and I recently visited here for a Spa day, on a Friday. For our Anniversary we had received a gift voucher. This was our 5th visit and overall it was an OK day. We did manage to get some relaxation time and a chance to chat away from the children and work. However, every other time we've visited it felt quite special, hence us keep returning but this time it didn’t feel that intimate and organised. At times it was quite difficult to get into certain rooms, like the sauna area, as they were over crowded. The restaurant area was very crammed with the tables and guests almost, if not touching. As an example, the couple next to us for breakfast, their round table was literally touching ours so it was difficult to hold a personal conversation. The service was OK but there was constant tutting, huffing and puffing from staff like they didnt want to be there, which was sad to see. Overall, it was an OK day as the wife and I was able to get away from the rat race for a few hours but it was dampened by the above, which i feel could have been easily prevented.
Rooms are extremely outdated. Bed was not comfortable and too soft for our liking. We paid £270 for 1 night including breakfast and 3h spa access. Food was amazing. If probably come back for spa + dinner, but definitely won’t stay over night again
Brilliant room was so happy , we had a loft room in 70 and was so nice, well equipped, spa facilities lovely but very busy on a sat , had to wait 3 hours to get in hot tub but was worth the wait , lovely clean place , lots of friendly staff and nice environment. The breakfast was really good and good service , the only thing to let us down was the food in the bar, we was so disappointed, I had a serloin steak which i wanted medium, it was rare and a bad bit of meat , chewy and fatty , my wife had fish and chips which again was so poor , soggy batter and the fish was awful , like watery tasteless frozen fish, we left food which we never do, told the waiter and he said he would talk to a manager, nothing then happened and we paid the £80, alot of money for a very poor meal. This may be the only reason we don't return, we are foodies and eat out alot and the food was so sub standard . Shame as love the rest of the experience
We made the most of their Black Friday deals. We stayed the night, had dinner and breakfast with spa access. Love the facilities, the recent revamp of the thermal spa is a gorgeous way to laze the day away, with the toughest choice being which section to relax in next. The outdoor hot tub was a particular favourite of ours. Rooms are not only clean, but homely. We stayed in the loft suite which was just beautiful. Will definitely stay away. It wasn’t our first time at Fairlawns but it never disappoints.
We had an incredible and very relaxing day here. The facilities are great. We particularly enjoyed the sauna and the mud treatment, but what really makes this place special is the team. The energy from every single staff member was amazing; everyone is so friendly and welcoming. We finished the day with 50-minute massages which were fantastic. A special mention to Tia for the incredible massage and her helpful Elemis skincare recommendations. We will definitely be back in the future!
