After having 3 prematurely-failed roofs over the last 41 years, I would say that Harlan Quality Roofing lives up to the quality part of their name - from the estimator, Kaleb, to the roofing crew. I was impressed that James, the company's owner, came and went up on the roof to check on how things were progressing. This company was the only one that noted that my roof had a low-slope area which needed special material, not regular roofing shingles. (Don't rely on building inspectors to catch everything since this went past 3 of them!) I was pleased that they used high quality shingles made by CertainTeed and Flintlastic for the low-slope area. Harlan also made sure to install flashing in the small, obscure areas where the roof abutted the stucco, something the other 3 companies missed (as well as the inspectors). I valued that Harlan also had gutter and attic insulation services available since many roofers don't offer all 3. The crews who installed these did an outstanding job as well. I was most impressed that after the work was completed, they sent Kaleb back to check the roof, although I already knew that it was A-OK since the day before, 1 ½ inches of rain had poured on it but it was completely water-tight! I loved that they provided a link to before and after pictures of my roof (rooftop view), something else no other roofer had ever done. I highly recommend this company for their honesty, professionalism, and quality work.
I have been recommending Harlan Quality Roofing to everyone I can. From the day of the initial estimate, through the final cleanup, they hit it out of the park. The entire team was extremely engaging, responsive to questions prior to & during the reroofing process, competitively priced, care taken to keep my property clean, high quality materials and experienced workers! I love supporting small, family run businesses whenever possible, and these guys have been perfecting their efficiently run process since 2005. I went with the CertainTeed Landmark Solaris 30yr shingles (moire black). This was a pleasing change from a light gray roof I had prior. I observed the two day process from end to end, and feel so secure to know what is underneath the shingles themselves, to further protect me from water intrusion for the next few decades. Let it rain!! If you are in need of a new roof, give these guys a call. I don't think you'll be disappointed at all.
I had a very positive experience with Harlan Quality Roofing. Kaleb answered all my questions and gave me clear info about the project, materials, pricing and timeline. We had to postpone the start day due to rain, but when they did start they were fast, efficient and thorough. From the tear off crew, to Frank the foreman to the installers, every person was professional and friendly. They finished in a day and I couldn't be happier with my new roof.
My roof was very old (nearly 30 years) and the tiles were in terrible shape, with a lot of wood rot underneath. The owner of Harlan (James) came out and gave me a very detailed quote and was very clear about all charges and possible charges. Tear off of the roof happened in one hour! And after much repair/replacement of the rotted wood (which took about a day) the actual shingling of the roof was about another day, meaning the whole took about 3.5 days. I purchased their higher end shingles (Certain Teed) which cost more, but were thicker and made me feel great about the look and durability of the new roof. James and his crew were available at every step of the way to answer my questions. I'd highly recommend Harlan for your roofing needs.
I heartily recommend Harlan Roofing to anyone. They are professionals and treat you with respect, and I chose them after reviewing 3 separate parties. -Initial estimator Rob was friendly, knowledgeable, and never tried to sell me on anything. Even advised me against getting solar attic fans installed. Other roofing companies did not have the same attention to detail or level of professionalism. -They helped coordinate adding fiberglass insulation for the attic as well -The owner James checked in multiple times to ensure the job was done right. Explained to me how the roof vents worked while he was on site, and allowed me to add more roof vents than what was planned for free. Advised me to ensure my solar panels which were being installed by separate company did not conflict with roof vents. When a hiccup occurred where some parts of the attic did not get enough insulation, took action quickly to resolve. -Brittney from the office kept in good communication with me throughout the entire process, making sure I was up to date and knew exactly what to expect at every step. -Installation was done quickly and efficiently, only a couple hours for the tear-off and 3 days for full install. They cleaned up nicely and all the crew was friendly and treated the house with respect. -Out of courtesy, they also stopped by after my solar panels were installed by separate company to double check roof is still OK and took photos, as well as fixed small patch of damage left by the other company for free. -I appreciate the 10 year warranty on my roof. Roof is holding up well so far after a rainy winter and heavy winds, no more leaks. -At the end of it all, they shared a drive folder which contained all the photos of my roof before, during, and after. It was great to see. If I had to get my roof replaced at another house in the future, I'd happily go with Harlan Roofing again.
