Payton cuts my hair from Hawk & Fade and she is absolutely awesome. I bounced from barber to barber for years looking for one that could cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it and then about 6 months ago I sat down in Payton's chair. At first I was a little skeptical but when she was done she had given me the best cut I had ever had. Now I wont go to anyone else for a haircut.
Elian is an amazing barber. He always listens with a kind ear and is incredibly patient and sweet with my son. Haircuts have been a challenge for us in the past, but my child truly enjoys going to see Elian, which means so much to me as a parent. Elian is very talented and consistently does a great job cutting my son’s hair. I’m extremely pleased to have him as our barber and highly recommend him.
I'm relatively new to Durham and was happy to find Jennifer at Hawk & Fade a few months ago. However, after 3 visits, I will not be going back. Here's why: Visit #1: My appointment was honored. We had a nice chat and did a good job, so I decided to keep coming back. Visit #2: She texted me a few minutes before my appointment to say she had double booked and needed me to wait 5 minutes. Not ideal, but fine. Visit #3: I walk in for my appointment and someone totally different tells me to sit down in his chair without even acknowledging that I had an appointment with Jennifer. And when I asked, he said "she's a little backed up today." Apparently, 1) the reservations that she gets from the attached salon next door are more important, and 2) she doesn't even give the courtesy to tell you that she's not going to honor your reservation. She could've texted me when she realized she was double-booked, but chose not to. She could've come in to the barbershop to tell me in person she couldn't make it, but chose not to. In other words, I chose her to be my stylist and she chose to disregard me. I don't ask for much, but I do expect my reservation to be honored. And if it can't be for some reason, that's not the end of the world, but for the love of sweet breakfast meats, tell me ahead of time. Otherwise, what's the point of a reservation?
Took my son here the other day. We are from out of town and needed a cut. John and Clay were awesome. Took time to talk to him about style and how to take care of his hair. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back. These guys were great!
I experienced this place and the barber was named Paul. I had heard about him by my other friends. He was great. He does short hair, fades and beards. The people I know who have been to him are all happy and they are all different ages young and old. He does all kinds of hair white hair and African hair. The place is great. I really relaxed.
