First of all, I’ll start by saying that I did enjoy this meal. The food was well cooked and overall pleasant. However, I was disappointed by the way the “tomahawk” pork chop was advertised. What was served was simply a cut of pork — there was no bone, no visual element, and it arrived already sliced. For a dish described as a tomahawk, especially at £27, I expected more of a showpiece. At that price point, I think it’s fair to want to be a little bit wowed. I was also let down by the honey root vegetables. They arrived cubed, and when I order honey root veg, I expect fresh, recognisable vegetables rather than something that felt pre-prepared. I also felt that the value for money was off. The total bill came to over £130 with no wine and only three pints of beer, which seemed steep for what we had — though it’s possible I’m just out of touch with current pricing. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal, but clearer descriptions, fresher accompaniments, and better value alignment would make a big difference. With a few tweaks, this could easily be a much stronger experience.
Great meal with amazing food and a great atmosphere. Waited a long time for food, even though the restaurant wasn’t that busy. Otherwise, amazing experience.
Very, very nice the coffee was delicious had the full English but struggled to eat it. Fantastic service very busy but well worth it. Thank you Heaney & Mill be proud.
One of the best Sunday lunches we’ve had. Belly pork was amazing with the cauliflower cheese. Although there was no truffle mash served which the menu said was part of the roast. Would definitely come again but…where was the truffle mash??
Exceeded expectations by quite some margin! We had the BBQ scallops, tuna, BBQ sea bass and duck Rossini. Faultless. The stand out were the scallops. Amazing. The BBQ sea bass was also spectacular. Fabulous service. Cracking value at £130 for the food, a bottle of rosé and a cider. Will definitely be back soon.
