Fourth year training here and still loving it. Great atmosphere, fantastic coaching, and Magnus is always there with expert advice. Highly recommend for anyone starting BJJ
Magnus is a fantastic coach and person, super knowledgeable and a fantastic teacher. Great facilities also, price not terrible. The two stars is for safety. Far too many people coming out the gym with serious injuries, imho, caused by over promoting of belts who lack the control to roll safely. Not to say there aren't lots of great talented, people there too (there are) but everything needs to be slowed down and controlled better. Hopefully that can be addressed and I think this could be an amazing training facility.
I have been training at Gracie Barra Horsforth since May now and I absolutely love it, best decision I ever made. The standard of training coach Magnus provides is awesome and there is an ever-growing sense of community within the club. Highly recommend !
I’ve been attending GB Horsforth since June and honestly wish I’d joined sooner. I absolutely love it here and can’t recommend it enough. It was an extremely warm, friendly and welcoming environment to step into as a newbie, and I’ve since made great connections with my fellow classmates and coach. There’s a real social and community aspect to the training. The standard of the coaching and training is excellent. The way the classes are structured works really well, demonstrations are always clearly explained, and any questions are always answered. The space is clean and well maintained. It’s a great workout and skill set to develop too, it makes you feel like you’re really working towards something.
I have been training with the team at Gracie Barra Horsforth for four months now and I cannot rate the team highly enough. I had been diagnosed with depression and anxiety and been off work for a period of time. I had no motivation, no purpose and lost sense of self. Since training at Gracie Barra, I am rediscovering myself and my capabilities, and I cannot wait to roll with the crew during training sessions. The coaches are fantastic in teaching you the techniques and your fellow trainers help you feel comfortable and at ease. Everyone is there to help and support each other and no training day is ever dull. My 11 year old son trains now and he cannot wait to train either. Its a big family at Gracie Barra and I am honoured to be part of the team. I would highly recommend it!
