Dinner and drinks here were brilliant. Ended up back for lunch (pizza) the next day. Lasagne and ragu 10/10, mrs enjoyed her cocktails. Bonus points for the safe return of a rouge carhartt hat left behind on route to deans village. Sound crowd for sure.
A real authentic Italian restaurant with a great menu and amazing food produced by the chef. The restaurant has been refurbished and has a nice atmosphere with cozy design and layout. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful and the location is a street away from the city centre. This is well worth a visit and I definitely will be back.
Cute little spot with lively ambience and lovely service. Portions were generous. Truffle pizza was rich and delicious. Lasagna was okay; a bit too salty and noodles overcooked (I prefer al dente). Pizza was huge, enough for two people, as was the yummy panzanella salad.
This restaurant is really beautiful with refined yet cosy decor and very friendly, speedy service. Our food was very tasty, we had three starters and a side for our meal. The pan fried king prawns were delicious but it was quite a small portion, I would’ve maybe wanted another 2 prawns. Over all an enjoyable meal!
The staff are pleasant but there was a clear lack of attention to detail. With being so new we expected excellent service, but that wasn’t quite the case. We were given our drinks (the best tiramisu martini ever!), and our empty water bottle sat at the end of the table so it’s obvious we were looking for it to be refilled. But once we got our drinks it was left there and we had to ask for it to be refilled. Ok that’s fine, but surely if you see an empty water bottle you just refill it? Bear in mind we were one of four tables in the restaurant so they weren’t exactly spoilt for jobs to do. Furthermore, when our starter came out (“Polpette” - meatballs and focaccia) the waitress didn’t tell us that the meatball dish came straight from the oven so is scolding hot. There were no bubbles or steam from the sauce to indicate this so I touched the dish which obviously gave me a shock and a wee burn. As someone who works in hospitality, I can’t stress enough the importance of informing a customer if a plate is even slightly hot to touch, and this was straight from the oven and she didn’t think to say?? I imagined a kid reaching over the table excited for their food then end up burning themselves, I don’t think that would end well… Although the food was delicious and reasonably priced considering it’s an independent restaurant. It’s the small details of service that really make or break the guests experience so this felt disappointing considering they’ve only been open a few weeks.
