Negatives: - Lack of the personal will lead to wait time even if you have an appointment. Sine the owner responded, I should say the time I took my son to the shop, there was just one associate there and she was helping another client for around 10 minutes after our appointment time. The expectation is if you book an appointment, there should be enough associates and stuff to support people with appointment and the one that just walk-in - the place should be for the kids, therefore staff shouldn't use heavily cigarettes. The lady who cut my son hair, smoked heavily and the cigarettes smell was very noticeable. Positive: Good design for kids.
My 3 year old got his hair cut by an older woman at the West Des Moines location. The entire time she was snippy with him and batting his hands away. She was clicking her tongue at him like his was a dog. My dogs get treated better at the groomer. We’ve been going since he was one. We drive an hour for a good experience, we will be taking our business somewhere else. Just go to sports clips for better customer service.
We’ve always loved visiting this location of Shear Madness. My boys love going to watch their favorite shows and the staff always does great job. My son always requests Zlata because she can shave cool designs in his hair, which makes him feel so cool. Everyone is great!
Booked a first haircut for my 2 year old and was a little disappointed with the experience (of course she'll never know the difference). The stylist didn't know it was a first haircut until the end and so didn't have the before pic. Then she turned on the TV, which my kid glued her eyes to and then kept pushing her head down to cut the hair at the back of her neck - TV probably could've come after that point probably. Not much was done to really interact with my kid or distract her besides the TV and tossing a ball at her feet. Luckily my daughter is very easy and the haircut went smoothly because of that. Loved the idea of the first haircut package but not sure about the rest
The haircut specialists are ALWAYS really nice, friendly, and very professional. They all are acutely attentive to parents and the children.
