This was my first visit. I had a facial by Christina. This was the most amazing experience of luxury I've ever had. The creams & facial massage were not just relaxing, but heavenly. I absolutely recommend Spavia!
I keep getting a message from Spavia to give a review, so I’m leaving one.My appointment gets cancelled every month. I can’t even use the credits I have already paid for. I even get a text after my canceled appointment time asking me to rate my massage; the massage that I didn’t get, because it was canceled, again. I will be canceling my membership today. I would give zero stars if I could.
I received a detox body wrap. The spa was very busy at the time but the employees made everything seamless. The girls at the front were super sweet and my wrap was incredibly relaxing. The robe is the most comfortable I’ve ever been in and the locker room was very clean and had lots of great little extras.
The front desk consistently changes appointments without contacting the client first to confirm. When addressed the guest advisors roll their eyes and specifically Katie (who wears a name tag Ava) shows a lack of care and customer service skills. Front desk does not bother to call to confirm appointments as “it depends on staffing.” This appointment was moved without communication a month prior. Then, on the day of the appointment it was moved again with 4.5 hour notice given from the manager. Spavia has a 24-hour notice policy for customers to change their own appointments. However, they can give less than that and it is acceptable. When I asked why the late notice it was explained that “someone booked an online appointment the night before and we need to give the technician time to clean in between.” This shows a lack of respect for existing appointments and for other clients' time as well as for technicians’ time. When checking out at the end of this appointment the two girls at the front desk were sitting on the ground and playing with each other’s hair which shows a distinct lack of professionalism and work ethic one would expect from a spa. Overall, the front desk staff and management are incompetent, are unable to communicate changes, and unable to effectively manage schedules. They do not care about customer service and are there for the money. Front desk staff are unwilling to communicate, be helpful, and be professional. Their mistakes are frequently covered up and excused by management. Lastly, the retreat room is inaccessible as due to the remodel there is heavy furniture blocking the door. Not only is this a fire hazard, but it is also inconsiderate of anybody who needs the extra space to maneuver around a tight space. It may cause problems such as pulled muscles or sprains or bruises when the guest needs to move the furniture to get in and out of the retreat room. I have gotten bruises trying to navigate the space. Additionally, the amenities such as the warm neck towel heater is out of reach which creates a stressful environment in a spa. The front doors leading to the spa as well as the bathroom door are heavy and narrow which also causes difficulties and bruising when navigating them. The place is designed in an ableist manner and that is reflective of the front desk staff attitudes. Do not waste your membership money here as front desk and management staff only want your money and will not respect appointment times or communicate if changes need to be made prior to making those changes. They will allow appointments that are booked online the night before to change other appointments made months in advance.
I had a great experience! The environment was so relaxing and I felt so taken care of. I had a Hot Stone Massage with Lindsay and a Facial and Warmed-Oil Scalp treatment with Elizabeth. I left feeling so relaxed and pampered. I will definetely be getting services done here again!
