Team Impact Amateur Boxing Club est une salle de boxe familiale à Calgary qui met l'accent sur une technique correcte, des entraînements intenses et une atmosphère accueillante, semblable à celle d'une famille. I registered to this gym last year. I went there only twice. One was conditioning and the other one was technique session. Welcoming? even on my first session(conditioning), no one including the trainer did not ask if I'm new. It was Ok since the conditioning session did not require skills to follow instruction. However, even on the technique session, they did not educate newcomers how to wrap bands etc. You just have to copy what others do by your instinct. I paid for two months for two session due to their cancellation policy. I knew about the cancellation policy, so I'm not complaining for the money. This is just a little heads up that this gym is not as professional and welcoming as some people left reviews.
What a great honor, experience, and pleasure this was! My deepest appreciation to Mr. and Mrs. Raposo for their warm welcome and hospitality! Thanks to Mr. Raposo extensive knowledge and insight into boxing, I learned a tremendous amount both on the way to the gym and during my time inside today. I was amazed by the facilities here, best gym I've ever been. I'm going to join the team as soon as possible.
BEST BOXING GYM IN YYC! Nothing comes close to the atmosphere- they make you feel like family. Proper technique and incredible workouts that will leave you coming back for more. The vibe is unmatched and so are the prices. Family owned with a vibe that you won’t find anywhere else. I can’t say enough good things about this place and the family that runs it. Proud to be a member.
Best boxing gym in Calgary. I always feel welcomed whenever I go. Every class I attended, the coaches always made it an emphasis to ensure everybody gets coached and not left out. When you do the 1 on 1 training with Luis, he not only pushes you to be your best physical self but more importantly teaches you how to become a better human being along the way. Signing up for this gym was the best decision I could have made for myself.
I've looked for a boxing gym in Calgary for YEARS to find a place that has the qualities that Impact does. Boxing changed my life and really shaped me as a kid. It gave me confidence, discipline, self-control, and a sense of power I wouldn't have had without it. Quality gyms aren't build on ego--they're built on pride from rising above challenges as you prove to yourself you can do hard things. So many gyms are flashy, trying to be cool, edgy, hip, trendy, or are built on ego because of the bravado of being a combat sport. Real boxing gyms are built on a community, growing together, and increasing humility to the same degree as confidence. The team at Impact has all of this. I couldn't be more grateful to have found a real boxing gym both in skill and in culture. If I'm going to box, it's going to be at Impact for now on.
