Went in to to get some advice on propagating a philodendron squami, their staff didn’t seem knowledgeable at all, or maybe just didn’t feel like being helpful. I also thought they might have some basic things like rooting hormone or plant food, and they did not. Disappointed, just an overpriced plant store.
Looking to replace plants and heard about The Plant House from a friend. From the selection of plants to the beautiful pots, I was hooked. Great knowledgable helpful staff guided me through the choices that fit my. They even planted the plants in my new pots. Love it-- will be back!
The Plant House is wonderful! I have bought around a dozen plants from them over the years. The collection of plants and other goodies (soaps, incense, dishes, etc.) is so fun. The staff is very helpful and goes above and beyond. Emily has helped me repot plants and given me excellent care tips. I love the Plant House!
I was alitte confused when I went in. I was under the impression the entire building was the plant house only to discover it was just the front end. Genius move on their part as it is the opening vendor inside Rust Belt, guaranteeing tons of foot traffic. The place is filled with well maintained indoor plants and the staff has a plethora of knowledge they are eager to share. A cool little feature is the plant bar. A area where you can purchase a plant, pick from a variety of pots and actually, well, pot it. Prices are on par with similar shops but with better personal service.
I purchased a Monstera Thai Constellation from The Plant House, the leaves started browning the next day, which would be understandable on the lighter parts of the leaves… but when I looked at the roots I realized it has “root mesh” wrapped around the roots, these are “suppose” to biodegrade but they hardly do in time, they slowly suffocate the plant. So make sure you cut the root mesh or check for it if you buy from here.
