To start things off, I wish I read these reviews before I took my three month old kitten here, if I read the reviews first I never would’ve. If you have a pet that has a mild cold, bring them here. If they have anything more serious, don’t waste your time. Me and my girlfriend just adopted two littermates a couple weeks ago. One of the littermates started to show symptoms of not eating and pain near her stomach area. We were told that the U of M vet hospital is one of the best places to take your young Kitten, this is true, but the people that work with your pet Are the problem. I completely understand that most of the people working here are in school dealing with your animals, but that’s no excuse for what happened. After two blood draws and two other tests done within a band of 11 hours waiting, the doctor and nurse looked at me with a blank stare and said we don’t know what’s wrong with your animal. They then proceeded to tell me that my only option is to proceed with an overnight hospitalization and two medical imaging Procedures, the total they quoted me was $7000-8000. But while explaining this price to me, they still had no idea what the cause was and Couldn’t even answer half of my questions. It got to the point where I was coming up with more possibilities than the doctors, I get it. They deal with a lot of dying animals, but your pet will be treated as a number here and nothing more. We wanted to pay this, but there was no guarantee of anything working since we didn’t know the problem to begin with. We then took our little girl to best friends in Bloomington and within minutes the doctor looked at us and said I’m surprised she even made it alive out of the womb. Long story short after spending thousands at the hospital and quoted close to $10,000 overall, best friends in Bloomington was able to tell me what’s wrong with my animal in five minutes. After everything we had to put her down, there was almost no other option. Again, take your dog here for a cold, but nothing else. If you care about your animal go to a local business or a smaller business, plus you’ll be spending half the money.

The service while you have their attention is good. That being said, after going through 6 hours of overnight emergency vet visit on Sunday night into Monday, there was a radiograph taken by an intern that was sent out for interpretation by a radiologist. I was told I would be contacted by the latest Tuesday with the results. Midday Wednesday I called to ask about this and was told nobody with knowledge of this was available but they added notes to be called back on the topic. After hearing nothing again I called back Friday and was told they reached someone but they’re busy and will call me back. Thankfully, this person did call me back, but I have now lost confidence in them. There is no reason I need to talk to someone three times to get the results of something that was delivered half a week late when it occurred doing an overnight ER visit. Animals are often considered family. If this is your mindset, I would advise paying a little extra and going to a different pet health provider to get prompt and attentive care.

The staff and students were friendly and more importantly super knowledgeable. They took excellent care of my dog and were quite a bit more up to speed on potential diagnostics and treatments than my primary vet or the emergency vet we had seen. I will absolutely be bringing the rest of my pets to them for any future health issues.

I've taken one dog here twice now for Urgent Care, and both times were excellent. The wait times were short, and the staff was fantastic. Prices are a little higher than some of the other places, but we got top tier care.

My poor girl has terminal cancer. The staff here helped me through some of the toughest moments in my life. It was very expensive, yes, but they were very honest about the prices of chemo and treatments. They actually ended up giving me their lowest estimation. The chemo bought us some more time. She wouldn't be by my side right now as I'm typing this. Due to the nature of her cancer, time is really all we have. The oncology staff were great to her. I had to drop her off for infusions when I worked.I got the feeling she became a favorite around there cause she was excited to get in the car to go there. I had Dr. Luethcke as the oncologist. He was one of the most kind and considerate doctors. He was easy to talk to and very receptive to what I was saying. The nurses were always fun to talk to and hearing about the goofy stuff my dog does. The reception staff were always very pleasant to talk with and always helped me get in the right direction. Overall the staff gets 5 stars, they do an Amazing job! Thank you for giving my girl more time. Every day I have her next to me is a blessing
