It’s what you’d expect from an emergency vet. Long waits, high prices… when I went, it seemed kind of busy, not 5 hour wait busy. When my dog was seen, it happened suddenly because she started dripping blood from a lump on her neck. We were separated and then I just agreed to the estimate because we wanted her to be taken care of properly. Overall I’m disappointed. The cost was a couple thousand dollars and we still don’t have a real answer to what is going on with her. Diagnoses; abscess… but it wasn’t drained. We went home with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory and things have been ok. At pick up the staff said our dog was quite excited in the back but she was supposed to be sedated and receiving care so I don’t know what we really paid for. Vet was going to give us the same medication for boatloads less and run blood work, which VSH did, and found nothing unusual. No follow up or anything included. I feel dumb for taking my dog to VSH to be quite honest. If it’s not life and death staring you right in the face, I wouldn’t go back. 2 stars because it was clean and large and I liked the mural outside. Also they didn’t kill my dog or anything so that’s I guess great.
I took in my little Josie with a high fever, this past Friday. First, we had almost no wait before being seen by the Vet, Dr.Henry. She was knowledgeable and very caring to my pup and me. Her treatment plan was developed in a timely manner. It was decided My pup would need to spend the night at the hospital for further tests and treatment. When I pick up my dog the next day, she was felling so much better! She has come home with her old perky personality! I am very pleased with the care my pup received at the VSH in Sorrento Valley. Thank you to the Drs and staff for being wonderful in caring for my pup, Josie.
Amazing hospital attention was given immediately, thorough, patient, so helpful and hopeful, kindness goes a very long way when you are sad and scared! Unforgettable help and my Louis was saved, and they took great care of my baby! Felt blessed that they were around!!
I brought my dog here as an incoming transfer from our family vet after he had a freak allergic reaction. Staff were super friendly and helpful, answering all my questions and concerns. They were very straightforward with treatment and kept me updated in a timely manner about my dog’s condition and care since he had to stay overnight. The care towards my dog Mochi was phenomenal and I can’t thank the staff enough for caring for my baby.
I am extremely pleased with the attention to my mini schnauzer, Luna. On Monday night, when we brought her in for an urgent care visit due to bite wounds from a raccoon. Everyone there showed an abundance of care and kindness towards Luna after this unimaginable experience. The facility was very clean and comfortable as we waited for our dog to be seen. The doctor (I forgot her name, but she was amazing) thoroughly checked Luna and explained everything that was done along with the after visit care instructions. Thank you to everyone there that night, for everything & for being available to care for Luna. Luna seems to be in good spirits and recovering just fine. ❤️
