Dining at An Nam is an experience. I won't even talk about the ambience because I've never been to another Vietnamese restaurant that even comes close to it. U have to see it in person because pictures don't do it any justice. If u prefer quality over quantity, this place is for u. I can guaranty u won't find another Vietnamese restaurant like this anywhere else. Imagine all your favorite Vietnamese dishes, but made with the best ingredients available. I'm not a picky eater, but I DO prefer the better cuts of meat and the freshest fish from the sea. My absolute fav is the roasted branzino and quail. I don't usually like quails because it's usually very dry, barely have any meat on them, and sometimes gamey! An Nam's quail is deboned, tender, plump, and juicy. I also stay away from lamb because of the smell but the lamb here is amazing! We tried a lot of stuff and everything was so good but the quail, lamb chops, steak, imperial roll, and of course canh chua & cá kho, and ANY dish with fish in it was superior. I am a fish snob because my husband is a fisherman, we are used to eating fish from the ocean to table. I don't order fish at restaurants because I am sensitive to smells when the fish is not freshly caught, but leave it to An Nam to prepare the freshest and superior fish dishes. Don't take my word for it though, like I said, An Nam is an experience, even if u can't find one thing u like, (which I highly doubt) just seeing the place is worth the trip.
Annam does a great job of elevating tradional Viet cuisines while still keeping the authenticity. Located in the Autry park shopping plaza, you can park in the garage or valet is available. It was a short walk from the garage. I like the modern interiors and intimate booth seatings. Menu is very simple with a variety of traditional dishes with Vietnamese translations as well. We chose a few to share: - grilled wagyu wrapped betel leaves - imperial roll - pork jowl lettuce wrap - shaking fillet mignon - tofu king mushrooms clay pot I enjoyed everything we tried. My favorite was the fillet mignon and Wagyu wrapped in betel leaves. The meat melts in your mouth. We also got a bowl of rice on the side. It was a homey dinner but in an elevated scale. Staff were very friendly and service was quick. I would definitely come back to try more of their menu.
I’m glad there’s at least this Michelin reviewed option here . The place is gorgeous! Good food overall but idk if it’s cause im vietnamese and have been to Vietnam etc but to me, they didn’t offer as many truly Vietnamese dishes and trust me there’s tons of delicious soups, curries, entrees ! Idk if this is supposed to be the same Michelin star one in Ho Chi Minh City but it wouldn’t meet those standards. Service also could be improved .
We visited Annam for dinner and while the décor was quite nice and the ambiance upscale, the overall experience didn’t live up to the Michelin recognition or the hype surrounding it. We ordered the Lobster Asparagus Soup, Chicken Wings, Chicken Curry, King Salmon Crudo, Tamarind Lobster, and a few drinks. The flavors were decent, but honestly nothing that stood out—very similar to what you could find at a solid local Vietnamese spot, just at a much higher price point. Portion sizes were surprisingly small, leaving all of us still hungry afterward, especially considering the premium pricing. Service was quick and efficient—having a reservation meant no wait, which we appreciated. Overall, Annam felt overpriced and overhyped. While the presentation and environment have that fine-dining appeal, the food quality didn’t quite match the cost or the Michelin buzz. We expected more.
I was excited to try out this new-ish spot after seeing them receive a bib gourmand. We had a 7:30 reservation for Saturday night and upon arrival they said that our table would be ready shortly and asked for us to wait at the bar. Well we waited, and waited, and waited. We asked the hostess and manager several times when our table would be ready to which they replied, “I don’t know, we have several tables that should be getting up any minute”. Meanwhile our drinks at the bar took a good 20 minutes to prepare. We were finally seated shortly after 8pm, which, if I wanted to eat at 8pm I would have made a reservation for 8pm. Once we were seated no one came to the table to take our order or give us water for almost 15 minutes until we got up to speak to the manager again. We let them know that we had a party that we needed to get to so we would like to place our order as quickly as possible. When our first course came out we ordered a second round of drinks and they let us know that the bar was very backed up but they would like to send us a complimentary bottle of champagne. This was very nice and the first time they offered compensation for the service, but the bottle of champagne also took 20 minutes to come out. For dinner we ordered the chicken wings, pork jowl lettuce wraps, wagyu betel leaf, chicken curry, shaking filet mignon and the vegetarian clay pot. The food was honestly very good with the betel leaf, shaking beef and vegetarian clay pot being table favorites, and maybe it was just an off night, but the service was so tough that I won’t be recommending this restaurant to friends any time soon.
