Finally, a LFS that really is better than the BBS. I had given up on most of the local stores due to their prices and constantly ending up with sickly fish. This is out of my way, but worth it! Texas Aquatics was selling ich infected fish for TWICE the price this place was, and the staff gets extremely disgruntled if they hear you even whisper "ich" near them. I will happily drive 45 minutes instead of 10 to go here from now on!
Me and friends have got a few fish here. Decent service. Lady was nice. Most animals and fish seemed happy and healthy. Definitely will continue getting fish from here.
Such a wonderful store! So many good selections of fish and reptiles. Kinda hard to find the store, but when you walk in you're surprised how big it is! Wonderful employees that are considerate and knowledgeable.
I used to go to this place a lot as it’s one of the only aquatic specialty stores around the Keller area. I’m not sure when the owners/employees stopped caring, but on all of my recent visits I see nothing but overstocked tanks, aggressive species housed together, and a noticeable amount of dead fish in lots of tanks. My most recent trip left me horrified, as not only was there a severely overstocked and underplanted “sorority” tank with many stressed and hiding bettas, but dead fish in the tank as well. When asked about a fish in the sorority tank that was clearly dead, the employee I spoke to said that the fish was alive and that the fish were in quarantine despite all fish in the tank having a price. The clearly dead fish was left in the tank, which will ruin the water quality. One had also notably died of dropsy, which is extremely preventable and also curable. There are clear signs of neglect at this store. If fish are dying, putting them down with clove oil or trying to heal them are the only ethical ways to deal with it. Will not be coming back here in the foreseeable future.
I’m fairly new to the hobby so I have been to several fish stores in the area to find my go-to “LFS”. This one is by far the best. It’s clean, the tanks are all gorgeous and well-maintained, they have an amazing selection, prices are reasonable, they quarantine new stock, and they have actual tanks for their betta fish. I was in heaven! The store is adequately named, haha. They have some beautiful plants as well, and a huge planted tank to put injured fish to live out their lives that cannot otherwise be sold. It’s obvious the truly care about the well-being of their animals and have a passion for the hobby. And bonus, they have a really unique selection of reptiles and amphibians too! So those were fun to look at. Heather was super awesome and spent a ton of time helping me out, and I got to take home the fish I had my heart set on. I’ll definitely be back!
