I wish I would have known about BevMart years ago! I have lived in the University area, off and on, for 5 years. I just recently started shopping at BevMart a couple months ago. The selection is unbeatable. If you like scotch, craft beer, Japanese whiskey, there is a huge selection of each, (and probably various other types of alcohol that I do not normally browse for or drink). They are one of the few places on island that carries Laphroaig and various other types of Lagavulin. If they'd carry grapefruit Sculpin IPA, I'd give them 6 stars. ;) Staff is always friendly and more than willing to share insight and opinions I've had on various products. Always a pleasure to shop here.
It is very unfortunate that i must write this. I have been a loyal customer for almost half a year. The owner knows me, has even thanked me that i often come by whether for gatorade/coconut juice or other beverages. It saddens me that as a regular who has always followed his rules he accused me of being a potential robber solely on my personal handbag. He profiled me only bcuz my purse made him believe i was planning on robbing him which of coarse i would never. He knows me to be a regular n yet still profiled me as a robber. Definitely not a place to do business with. AVOID THIS PLACE. The MALE OWNER lacks respect for loyal customers.
Tried ordering an expensive bottle of champagne for delivery. Mind you, I am on the mainland trying to gift locals that I stayed with a little cheer. After calling was instructed to do so online which I did. I placed specific instructions on the form to leave with the receptionist after being let into the condo. No where on the order form does it say that delivery has to be to the recipient, only that the person has to be 21 years of age or older. My friends were not home and did not respond to the message. Bev Mart would not leave with the of age receptionist. They canceled the order kept the tip, apparently are charging me a return fee and told me at some point I would receive partial refund?! It was the owner that I spoke on the phone was nothing short of rude and condescending, no aloha there. Heard he bought a second store. If you are looking for customer service (could have given my business to national company but wanted to keep it local) and a little kindness Bev Mart is NOT your place. **This is in response to the professional owner's response (because I also call my customers liars!) My apologies, I read the text incorrectly. It reads, "you will be charged the delivery fee and the return fee" (which I have no idea how much the return fee is). Here's an idea ,check the ID of the vetted receptionist at the upscale condominium complex, just a thought!!!! I also don't know when "sometime" is for the refund, but hey I guess they'll get to it when they get to it.......................
The experience I had when my daughter and I went to market today was enjoyable! Not being able to roam with my purse was initially off-puttting but understandable. I have to say, the diversity of options absolutely excited me! I recently moved back from a short 3-year stint in Germany, and being able to shop some of the options from Europe — I appreciate this breath of fresh air! Great parking and a variety of options really won me over. I will be returning again soon! I encourage this fun venture into the different and difficult to find. They certainly have my business! Been to this shop a few times, the staff are really knowledgeable, and they keep an awesome inventory of some niche spirits you wouldn’t find at an ABC Store or anything. Also follow them on IG @thebevmart, they post the new inventory and they hold giveaways for some awesome signs, keychains, etc 😉 and I think the guy who works there was in an issue of Vogue…
