We sold our home a week or so before we could move into our new apartment. After doing a fair amount of research and getting quotes, we decided on Brisbane Removalists. We liked the idea and the costs saved by not double handling our belongings in the traditional way of loading a truck, unloading into storage, loading again then delivering to the new site. Lots of extra hours required for that. Vandersen and Jorge loaded our things in a very efficient and well considered way, they were courteous and respectful not just to us but ensuring there would be no damage to the house. Stage two has not been done yet and that is unloading at our apartment building. Brisbane Removalists claim to be experts in this type of moving and we look forward to the next step with the same minimal stresses for us.
Read this if you want to save Money, Stress and your Furniture! Eileen, the owner, comes across lovely and professional but she’s taken no responsibility for the horrible work of her team. One had an injury and persuaded me to get a third mover (costing more) and spent the day limping and not doing much. The second was threatening and made us feel uneasy including my elderly mother who was helping us. Ultimately in transporting our items interstate we had several items damaged costing approx. $40k. Dents to new fridges, scuffs and dents to antique and expensive furniture, leather chairs and lounges pressed or inverted against sharp/pointed items causing permanent unsightly impressions in the leather. I asked that they use the 35+ blankets we provided (Eileen scoffed at this when I told her), but they had four large brand-new blankets laying on the grass at the end of the day... I checked inside the container and saw that a prized art deco cabinet was completely unprotected up against other furniture directly and the guys pulled it out revealing that it was dented and scratched with no blanket before we even closed the door on the container! They also already knew they damaged it, so it appears they were trying to get away with it. I then wonder why they wrapped Ikea furniture and not the last antiques to go in! Eileen agreed to fix/replace this on a phone call and then put into writing via text also agreeing to anything else damaged, see texts from her, and pics of just some of the damage. I tried to pursue all the damages as is my right and claim; however, Eileen disagreed and made a story that they “thought” the container was to remain where it was (makes no sense) and had no idea we were moving interstate. Apparently, the team deliberately “didn’t pack for a long journey” – what the!? I paid $2,660 for this pack! Everything was packed well except the last quarter of the container, the day was long (they spent a lot of time early on doing nothing), and the guys were tired – how dishonest – Eilleen really does have their back no matter what! No accountability! Furthermore, I told had her myself we were moving interstate when we had a chat early in the process to which of course she denied. Eileen is educated and very well spoken, I see in other reviews that she denies what occurred and she will on this one too. Today on a call, she said “given the time passed” (I’ve been chasing for months but no return call) that they’ve “walked away”. She also said part of the reason was that I was threatening – yes, I threatened legal action, which is my civil right, but Eileen also wrote to me with “I have already passed this to our legal team”, but then nothing happened, I waited for that too. I remained professional until today where I did get upset and I claimed a safe in the container was attempted picked (key cover removed and missing) and badly damaged on the top like it’s been dragged on the road/footpath. I ended up needing a full second container, so two days after I hired Two Men & a Truck – WOW! They had to move items similarly up hill, had the same pack volume and remaining heavy items just two men and it cost $862! I paid almost an extra $2k for Eileen’s team to damage our stuff and cause us so much stress and anxiety. Oh, and nothing was damaged with the other guys BTW! Of the four containers, only this one had damaged items, one other was packed by another BR team (no issues). I believe this team is still employed as I said today to Eileen, "they're not your children" and she replied "actually, they are" implying again that she has their back. Beware. Many positive reviews but check out the 1’s and Eileen's replies, all denial which is a pattern when things go wrong, they do sometimes. If you have valuable furniture, don’t use BR, they are not a member of AFRA (go figure) and I have no evidence (I asked multiple times for their insurance company) that they’re even insured and I have a sense Eileen will argue her way out of responsibility along with any review as evident... speaking of, get the popcorn ready!
The best decision I made in my recent move was hiring Brisbane Removalists. From Eileen's first response to a request for a quote through to putting the last of my possessions into the storage unit, everyone that I dealt with was professional, helpful and friendly. Breno and Viktor arrived with huge smiles and their positive energy carried me through a really difficult day. They were careful with all items and checked with me before continuing if they were unsure of anything. Highly recommended!
Absolutely amazing service – best moving experience ever! From start to finish, the team was professional, friendly, and incredibly efficient. They handled everything with so much care and made what’s usually a stressful day feel completely effortless. Communication was great, they arrived right on time, worked quickly, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was set up perfectly at the new place. I’ve moved a few times before, but this was by far the smoothest and best experience I’ve ever had with a removalist company. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, hardworking movers who genuinely care about their customers!
