Dr. Shiau and his incredible staff have become an irreplaceable part of our healthcare here in DC. My husband and I have been going monthly for two years, including for the duration of my pregnancy. His entire team is so welcoming and now even accommodates staggered appointments when we have our baby with us. I love that he not only adjusts, but includes acupuncture and other helpful services. We are so grateful that Dr. Shiau has helped us regularly and also when we most needed it like when my husband threw out his back and when I needed more frequent alignments during pregnancy. Would highly recommend – and they are great at working with insurance!

After worsening neck stiffness and back pain over the last two years, Dr. Shiau and the rest of the team at DISC have helped me make remarkably quick improvements in mobility and regaining pain-free movement. Most of my visits have consisted of spinal traction with moist heat, mild electric stimulation of the back/neck, and acupuncture, followed by chiropractic adjustments and muscle scraping. Every staff member I’ve interacted with is kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. The office is very efficient, with each visit (after the initial consult) lasting 25-35 minutes. It’s always been easy to schedule a follow-up visit, and they have very flexible hours. Metered street parking is available but limited, and parking garages nearby charge between $10-25.

Dr. Shiau truly lives up to the hype! From the moment I arrived, he listened attentively to all of my concerns and immediately developed a clear plan to address each one. The level of care and attention he provided went above and beyond, while also being efficient with my time. Best of all, my treatment was fully covered under my insurance. I can't recommend Dr. Shiau enough, He’s exceptional!

Every time I walked in with pain, I left with ZERO pain. I'm not sure what kind of magic Dr. Powell Shiau has but it has been an absolute lifesaver each and every time. I had immense rib pain from tearing a muscle before an 11 hour flight the next day and within 8 hours after my appointment, I felt completely fine and ready to go. I could not recommend this facility and doctor enough!!
