I have been a member at many gyms across the Milwaukee area. This is by far the most welcoming and community centered fitness arena! So many group classes, free workouts, fun events, and awesome opportunities to not only improve your fitness, but also your mental/emotional/social health. Eternally grateful for the HYROX training classes offered by this gym- I owe a lot of my preparedness and grit to the crew that sweat along side me.
I visited East Bank today for a free trial and tour. I must say that my favorite part was the employees. The employees at the front desk, especially the employee who gave myself and another guest a tour, were amazing. It also got a bit busy and the manager came out to offer their support up front, which was good to see. I had visited this gym when it was Gold’s gym, and I think the positives still stand. Protein shake bar, pool, basketball court, parking validation, and multiple floors with equipment for almost every type of training. My challenges with the gym are the hours (as I am a night owl) and the set up of the 5th floor. The free weight/cable area has A LOT to offer, but the machine area is a bit chaotic and cramped. Some of the equipment feels like it’s on top of each other. I think they’ve done okay with the space they have, but I also feel like there may be some room for improvement, particularly because the gym is 5 floors. Still 5 stars from me, even with some minor critiques! 95% sure that I’ll be joining.
My husband and I are in Milwaukee for a week and so we heard about this gym. The staff was so kind to help us get signed up and I cannot express how professional and genuine they were towards us! I cannot remember his name but there was a guy that helped us!! He was sweet to help us download the app. Thank you Mr for being so kind and helpful towards us!!
Great gym! I love the easy parking. I think the price is worth all the amenities and modern equipment. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the availability. I wished they stayed open till about 10 during the week and about 7 or 8 on the weekends. It would be nice for the night owls but other than that, I have no complaints. I would do 4.5 stars 🙂
I joined East Bank Athletic Social expecting a supportive and motivating environment, especially given the premium membership cost. Unfortunately, my experience has been overshadowed by an excessive level of staff regulation and a surprisingly passive-aggressive tone from certain employees. I take my training seriously, and I expect a gym to respect members who are focused on improving themselves. Instead, I’ve repeatedly encountered 1–3 staff members who seem more interested in micromanaging my workouts than fostering a positive atmosphere. Simple, routine exercises turn into uncomfortable interactions where I feel scrutinized rather than supported. I understand the importance of safety and gym policies, but rules here are enforced in a way that feels inconsistent and unwelcoming. A gym should motivate its members—not make them feel like they’re constantly being monitored or corrected without cause. I hope management will address this culture and better train staff to communicate with professionalism and respect. Until then, it’s hard to recommend East Bank Athletic Social to serious individuals seeking a productive and encouraging place to train.
