Lovely little studio with a really peaceful vibe. The space is small, but it feels calm and welcoming — perfect for switching off and getting grounded. Great energy all around!
The Yoga Room is peaceful and unpretentious, two things I really value having tried a lot of yoga studios in Edinburgh before I settled here. Stacey is an awesome teacher - she is friendly and kind, and meets everyone exactly where they are at. Can't recommend this welcoming little community highly enough
I love the Edinburgh Yoga room. I’ve been going to the studio for years as I’ve found Stacey to be a rare yoga teacher that doesn’t fall into one of two camps - a teacher that only focuses on yoga as exercise or a teacher that understands yoga philosophy but makes you feel like their way is the only way - which I’ve found quite a lot in studios that offer fitness style yoga classes or that teach ashtanga. The studio space itself is large with enough space for students to not be on top of each other, but the atmosphere is intimate because there isn’t a mill of people coming in and out for numerous classes at the same time. Stacey manages to make classes challenging while offering adjustments for those who need them but she also weaves yoga philosophy into her instruction, which I appreciate so much. Stacey teaches how to create a yoga life practice, to better your mind, body and soul which true yoga is all about. I originally started taking ashtanga and hatha classes but after being diagnosed with an illness I started to do private restorative yoga classes with Stacey and I’ve never looked back since. Stacey’s knowledge of all of the various yoga styles and poses, and the philosophy behind them, quite literally saved my life as I had chronic stress and fatigue, and was riddled with anxiety. Working with Stacey helped set me on a path of healing for not only my body but my life as well. I’m so grateful to have found Stacey and her studio.
Over the last few years I have attended classes in the relaxed atmosphere of the Yoga Room and have benefitted from Stacey's teaching experience and commitment to the practice of yoga. Students of all ages and abilities are made to feel welcome, and individual help is always available to address problems of injury or mobility. If you have always wanted to try yoga, but have been put off by the thought of a silent, serious class, this is the place for you.
Stacey's ashtanga yoga classes have been an amazing introduction to yoga for me, that has turned into a weekly practice. Stacey and the class are friendly and welcoming. The class is inclusive for everyone, including very un-bendy people like myself. The class provides an hour of calm and a much needed weekly reset to life. If you are unable to attend the weekly class in person, there is the option to join via zoom, which is very handy. Highly recommend for anyone considering starting yoga in Edinburgh.
