Essence Beauty was the first hair store I visited after moving to Oakland from Brooklyn, and it felt like home. Aunt Sarah welcomed me with the kind of warmth you don’t forget — like an East Coast auntie who just knows what you need. The store had everything, but it was the care and community that made it special. Grateful to have found this gem.
Love the hours for this place. And the lady who runs. It is absolutely adorable. Very sweet. However, because this place is a mom and Pop type shop. This election is quite slim. Only one Ile big so be aware. But they even had lashes.

I finally found my home for my hair care products! The owner is sweet and so helpful. She has things I can never find in target or Walmart, which is fine by me because she is so much closer and offers a much better shopping experience. Everything is reasonably priced and readily available. I love it and will be back for sure!
