Dan is one of the most personable coaches I’ve ever worked with. He’s real, grounded, and you can tell straight away he’s genuinely only interested in improving your life. I was genuinely surprised by how effective online meditation was for me. Life changing is thrown around too much but I definitely slept better, had less stress and made better decisions more aligned to myself. His course condenses centuries of knowledge into simple, science-backed teachings that actually work in the western world. I’m bald, but he didn’t make me a monk ;) The real value was learning how to take the benefits of meditation and apply them to a busy, modern life, and that’s exactly what his course showed me how to do. Meditation and spirituality didn’t come naturally to me at all, especially as a man, call me a complete beginner. Dan teaches mantra meditation as an alternative to traditional mindfulness, which suited me far better. You don’t need any background knowledge or experience, you just follow his basic process. In terms of results, my Whoop data watch consistently shows lower heart rate and reduced average stress levels on the days I meditate. The correlation is undeniable. For someone who needs evidence to be convinced, this was the proof that meditation is doing exactly what it claims to do. My view is that meditation only really works when it becomes a habit. The underrated part of Dan’s course is the follow up check in and genuine support you receive after completing his course. For anyone on the fence, I'd always so try it. And even better, go with Dan.
This course was excellent - Dan is very knowledgeable, caring and understands a wide range of topics linked to meditation. He is a good teacher, patient and explains well. This form of meditation was new to me, but I have been able to make it a daily habit. Dan is also available to help you, this isn’t just the course, you also get really good follow up after care. If you’ve wondered about meditation, give this a go, I found it a lot more helpful than apps like Headspace etc
I recently saw Dan advertising a breath-work class and was fascinated so signed myself up. This lead to me attending the weekend meditation course followed by a weekend retreat. I have played about with meditation and breath-work over the years, particularly during the pandemic but nothing comes close to the effectiveness of what Dan is doing. It made an instant impact and now nearly 4 weeks on, although the placebo effect has worn off; it is still benefitting me in ways that I would never have imagined. And the most amazing thing is that it is so simple and straightforward and you don’t have to be spiritual or religious in the slightest to do it and benefit. I would highly recommend it. I can see myself incorporating this type of meditation into my daily life for years to come. I’m so glad I said ‘yes’ to that first breath-work class.
Being my first Health & Wellness Retreat, It was always going to be a special one. However, Gen Zen's Dan and his team made it an extra special one with every activity and meaningful being participant led and spiritually alive . This meant that the weekend retreat unfolded so naturally like a beautiful lotus flower while also complementing a peaceful Yorkshire countryside setting for the Summer Retreat. Thus, the whole experience served as an everlasting reminder to the creative fire within myself and the importance of embodying presence through stillness alone and in community. Overall, I would highly recommend joining one of Gen Zens Retreats if you would like to experience the full power of building authentic timeless connections with Nature, other blessed beings and finally your own Body,Mind and Soul.
Dan is a brilliant teacher. His knowledge and wisdom of meditation, and the surrounding themes was thorough and inspiring and he was able to weave this into something really accessible for modern life with incredibly supportive aftercare. He is clearly passionate and dedicated to sharing this gift with the world. Couldn't recommend him highly enough.
