Their teachings are clear, insightful, and applicable to daily life. * Variety of Programs: The temple offers a wide range of programs, from introductory classes and guided meditations to retreats and workshops. There's something for everyone, regardless of their experience level. * Supportive Community: The temple community is incredibly warm and welcoming. I felt an immediate sense of belonging and connection with fellow practitioners. * Peaceful Atmosphere: The temple grounds are beautifully maintained and exude a sense of tranquility. It's the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and find inner peace. * Open to All: The temple welcomes people of all backgrounds and beliefs. Whether you're a seasoned Buddhist or simply curious about the practice, you'll feel at home here. Who Should Visit: * Anyone interested in learning about Buddhism * Experienced practitioners looking for a supportive community * Those seeking a peaceful and contemplative space Overall: The Indiana Buddhist Temple is a true gem. It's a place where you can deepen your understanding of Buddhism, connect with like-minded individuals, and find inner peace. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking spiritual growth and connection.
Very well maintained and well organized theravadi Buddhist Temple with very kind and generous monks
Really friendly place! Positive energy. People there are open minded, and everyone is made to feel welcome. Anyone can come and meditate there and find peace in their mind. People socialize before and after the meditation, which is very very nice. Is a great place to meet spiritual minded people. The monks have a very kind caring energy. Even is a cute cat there, and I saw a goose too.
I had the great pleasure of visiting this place during a Katina ceremony (End of rainy retreat, month of November). It is wonderful to see Abbot Devananda Thero is maintaining the place with Theravada Buddhist standards with the help of Sri Lankan descendants in USA as well as lots of other local residents. This is a wonderful religious institute for anyone who would be looking for a quiet place to rest the mind or remind yourself of your practice. A walk in the garden would be so peaceful and transform your mind to another universe as you see all the great statues setup in the pathways. This is a recommended place for anyone who would like peace and tranquility.
J'adore Indiana Buddhist Temple !
