Great service and food. Its a Japanese tapas style bar. Shrimp tempura is a must try ! Loved their options in Japanese drinks - cocktails, sake and also non alcoholic. Takoyaki, gyoza, kimchi and the mackerel was great ! Also tried the duck tataki, it was succulent and very flavorful! Karrage bites were big and the sauce was amazing. It was the first time I tried hot sake and it was fun to play the cup game with the host. This place can get super busy so its best to make reservations. Fun for a big group looking forward to catching up over drinks and snacks !!

Good looking Japanese pub and amazing service. As for the food, Kyodai Izakaya is a jack of all trades but master of none; it's good, just not great. Everything you eat here is done better elsewhere in more specialized restaurants. The chicken skewers are ok, the ramen is decent but needs more meat (you only get a single slice of chashu pork) and the curry rice is good but I've had much better. Nothing really stands out here, unfortunately. It's just serviceable.

Hate to say I was disappointed, but there are several better Japanese options in Montreal at this price point. Lovely atmosphere and friendly, albeit slower service. Overall pleasant experience, but I unfortunately cannot recommend the food. The appetizers were mediocre; the octopus balls were quite chewy. We ordered the black garlic ramen and the tantan ramen. I found the broth to be not as flavourful as I hoped, and the portion to be small. Incredibly steep price for only one thin sliver of pork and half an egg.

Amazing atmosphere and decor! Very similar to the little izakaya joints in Japan. Food was overall really good. Loved the duck tataki the most! Just wished the chicken katsu had a little more flavour but other than that it was still a great experience and would come back to try other things on the menu for both food and cocktails!

A Japanese bistro in the heart of Concordia University. A friend and I went from the Museum of Fine Art to this place walking along and appreciating the night life. You enter and the atmosphere invites you to sit and relax and eat. Beautiful venue. Great food. Will be going back regularly.
