I just completed two series of trainings with Clay at the Lloyd Center Athletic Club. I am a active senior but wanted more refinement with my program. Clay gave me just the kind of instruction I needed. He is consistent, focused, and aware of what his clients need. I gained insights into how I have approached exercise, and how I can adjust in important ways to improve myself. I've been a member at Lloyd Athletic Club for years participating in both senior fitness classes and working with personal trainer Justin Olson. Justin has a great approach for working with seniors like me who weren't particularly athletic or gym oriented prior to retirement. He's knowledgeable of a wide variety of exercise modes and always comes up with an alternative when I find a particular machine difficult to work with as I recover from an injury. He willingly shared information with and taken direction from my physical therapist. I feel like I've got a team working with me now!
This is a review from David Mckinney for my trainer Justin Olson. Many years ago I first started to work with Justin at LAC when I was younger and much more fit. He helped me gain strength and stamina as my program expanded at a comfortable pace. Justin listens and assesses his clients on an individualized basis that makes for positive progress. After a lapse in exercising for several years and having several serious surgeries, I was thrilled to be able to rejoin LAC and work with Justin. And true to my earlier experience, Justin quickly and accurately assessed my physical and emotional condition and developed a routine that was comfortable and yet progressively helpful. I am so grateful for the steady and thoughtful attention he provided so that I regained strength, balance and improved stamina so that I could reengage in the more active life I desire. He wisely confirmed with my cardiologist that there were no restrictions and continues to adjust my program so that I move in a positive direction. He is definitely an asset to LAC.
My husband and I worked with Justin Olson for years. My husband passed away in 2019. I kept coming back to the gym. Justin is a top-notch instructor. He is kind, patient, thoughtful and so good at what he does. His classes were the best! I have recently cancelled my membership at the gym because I suffer from constant vertigo and imbalance and permanently use a walker and, at age 87, I no longer drive. I so enjoyed my years at the Lloyd Gym and am grateful to my time spent there with Justin as my mentor. He is simply the BEST!!!
I've worked with Justin Olson for over 6 months now and he's been great to work with! We're always talking about how we can shift our workouts together to get the results I seek, and he's super receptive to feedback. He is genuinely interested in making sure that I get what I want from our time together and is constantly challenging himself and me to push myself in new ways. Also, he changes up our workout routines all the time, so it's never boring. Lloyd has also invested in new workout equipment and set up different workout stations, so it never feels too crowded and there are many options for working out in different ways.
