I have been going to Loops for 2 years and am thrilled with the results. My back and hip pain have disappeared, and I am the strongest that I have been in years. Kyl is a knowledgeable instructor and make Pilates accessible to people with different skill levels and experience. The studio is beautiful, very clean, and has high quality equipment.
You can stop looking; you've found it! Loops is a beautiful, peaceful and welcoming studio.... where you are going to work! Kyl is an amazing and intuitive professional. Her instruction is top of the line. I've been coming for a year now, and it's been life changing. Loops is both a physical and mental health gem of a studio. The "regulars" encompass a wide range of ages and abilities and are a friendly, Welcoming crowd. There's something for everyone, so give it a try - you'll be happy you did.
I've been coming 2 - 3x a week for about 6 months now. Loops Pilates is an exceptional studio, and I'm so grateful to have such an awesome business just down the street from me. Kyl (the owner who teaches most classes) is very kind, knowledgeable, and on top of things. I like that I am not bored because Kyl comes up with different combinations of moves to rotate through. It's a workout, but I don't get so sweaty that in a pinch I can't rush home and hop right on a video call for work. A friend who attends classes at both Loops and another studio in town says she would describe Loops as a traditional pilates experience. Most of the session is usually spent on the reformer machines, with occasional work on the chair or springboard. If I concentrate on my form and getting through the exercises, pretty soon the hour is up and I feel like I've accomplished something! The other people attending have all been very nice, and there's a community feel in both the smaller and larger classes. The facility and the equipment is really clean. Don't be intimidated if you are new to pilates or the reformer -- it is really just about resistance training and control with specific moves to precisely target certain muscles. With the different spring weights or variations to adjust the difficulty, it's easy to adapt any class to the right degree of challenge. I started classes here coming off a roughly 9-year hiatus from any regular exercising or sports (eek) and being in a desk job. The first 2 - 3 times made me incredibly sore, but it was just upwards from there. I can feel and see a real difference in my body strength in everyday life, which has given me motivation to continue. As a bonus, I feel like the pricing is very reasonable for the quality of instruction and experience. Logistical stuff: * Best to sign up a couple days in advance for weekday mornings or weekend mornings, which are the busiest times. * You need grippy socks for every class. The studio has some thick, high-quality ones available for purchase if you don't have any. * There is one large bathroom in the studio. * Classes are typically offered every day of the week: usually mornings, noon, and late afternoons on weekdays, and mornings on weekends. * There is ample parking in the Plumgate center. Somewhat surprisingly, I have managed to keep myself from treating myself to Starbucks next door the vast majority of the time after class -- don't want to undo all that hard work!!
I am from Los Angeles and this is my go to studio when I'm in Reno. Kyl is a wonderful instructor and maintains a nice flow during the class. She is very helpful with modifications if needed and assisting with new moves. The studio/equipment is very clean and I love coming here!!!
I had never done pilates before and had my first class today. Kyl made me feel super comfortable and explained everything so I didn't feel out of place. I am excited to go back! If you are a total beginner like me or a seasoned pilates master like my friend who recommended this studio, you will be happy with your experience!
