I love using Master Maid for my house cleaning needs. I’ve hired them for a couple of deep cleans as well as a move out clean and all times I’ve been satisfied with the service. Booking is always easy, prices in my opinion are decent, and the management and staff all seem friendly and helpful. Will continue to use this company and recommend to others.
Master Maid came through in the best way possible. I was in a bind and needed someone at their earliest convenience. Not only did they call me back within the hour, I had a friendly, very experienced, work horse (she didn't stop for a second the entire four hours she was here) at my doorstep the very next morning. Detail oriented in every respect, polite, and even with our language barrier, Natalia whipped out her phone and we relayed everything I needed with full comprehension. The price was very reasonable and I will definitely be returning as I am now an extremely impressed client.
Overall I am disappointed with the clean. I had done a pre-clean of the condo I am moving into and was hoping Master-Maid would be able to provide a deeper clean than what I was capable of. They charged almost $400 for the Move In/Move Out clean and spent a total of 2 hours with one person. My biggest issue was at the end they explained they couldn't clean some of the harder to clean places (the main reason I booked a professional service): - Washing Machine had some mold on the edges. Same with the detergent dispenser. It showed no improvement. - Dryer had lint build up - was not removed and could not get the items stuck inside. - The top shelves were too high and were not cleaned. - Sink had some mold on edges, they could not remove. - Dish washer filter wasn't removed and cleaned. - Oven exhaust had grease and was not cleaned. - Shower had staining, was not cleaned. I went to Canadian Tire - bought mold remover and a power brush and cleaned all these areas my self. Used a ladder to clean the top shelves and use a vacuum and screw drivers to remove the excess lint. My understanding with the Move In/Move Out clean is that it is a proper deep clean. This was just surface level which was already completed in advance.
We booked Master Maid for a move-in cleaning and were very disappointed. My wife is in her third trimester and we were counting on them to clean our new home before the baby’s arrival. Several key areas were missed — the basement fridge was left with stains and a strong odor, the basement bathroom toilet still had a stain under the seat, the linen closet wasn’t cleaned, and parts of the main fridge (like the water tray and the floor near it) weren’t touched. The basement also smelled strongly of cat urine, which was a serious concern since I am allergic. We were counting on them to provide a safe, clean environment before moving in, and they let us down. To make matters worse, during the cleaning, one of their staff placed a fridge divider on top of the stove. When a technician later came to fix our internet, the stove was accidentally turned on and the divider was damaged. That kind of carelessness added unnecessary stress on top of everything else. When we raised these issues, we were told that a “standard move-in clean” doesn’t include what most people would reasonably expect — like properly sanitizing kitchens, bathrooms, and appliances. It’s hard to understand how a move-in cleaning doesn’t automatically cover those basics. Their policy only allows complaints within 48 hours, which feels unfair when moving comes with so many competing priorities. The company eventually offered a $50 credit, but that’s meaningless — they charge $58 just to clean a fridge again and over $500 to book another “basic” cleaning that would cover what they missed. We were even considering ongoing services, but after this experience, we won’t be booking again.
