This is where I've brought my dog for anything outside of wellness checks. From bowel obstructions to ear infections. They're knowledgeable, communicative, and have always been willing to spend time in the exam room, answering all of my questions, no matter who the doctor was. My dog has been a frequent flyer the last few months, and they've worked us in, been generous with me, and my four legged companion is still here because of them. Thank you, Midnight Sun!
Absolute kindness in care received. I read the reviews and I was nervous but my husky was suddenly sick and needed seen. They were so kind and patient and understanding from the start. Got us in and treated in no time. Showed all the love and kindness even my husky was so happy to go with them and by some miracle clipped her nails! (Normally she is extra extra about it and worse than wrestling a bear) and she was one room over when they took her back for temp and all that jazz and only once did I hear her whimper (understandably). Dr. Whitehead and her nurses were incredible providing compassionate care and understanding. Thank you!
If I could give zero stars, I would. I brought my nearly 16-year-old dog in for a referral appointment following a stroke. While the tech staff were kind and professional, everything changed when Dr. Wallace entered the room. She immediately stepped on my deaf dog’s leash, startling her. Then, without any gentleness or regard for her age or fear, she picked up my senior dog with one hand and attempted to check her heart rate using a stethoscope—still with just one hand. My dog was visibly frightened and nearly fell multiple times onto the hard floor. I told Dr. Wallace that my dog doesn’t like being held and gets anxious, but she ignored my concerns and continued anyway. When I asked questions about food recommendations and medication dosage changes, Dr. Wallace was dismissive and condescending. She instructed me to double my dog’s medication and said to “watch for her to collapse,” because that would mean she’s “bottoming out.” It felt like she was telling me to increase the dosage and then wait for her to die. I’ve never encountered a vet with less compassion. If you love your pet and want them treated with dignity and care, I strongly urge you to go elsewhere.
When I brought my beloved cat to Midnight Sun Animal Hospital, I knew something was wrong, but I didn’t realize how serious it was. From the very beginning, the staff listened closely to my concerns and treated both me and my cat with kindness and respect. The veterinarian gently explained the findings from her exam, helping me understand what was causing her symptoms. Even though the news was heartbreaking, they provided medication to keep her comfortable and gave me clear guidance on what to watch for. Sadly, a few days later, I had to make the difficult decision to let her go peacefully. What truly touched my heart was the compassion shown not only in person, but afterward as well. The entire team — from the vet to the front desk staff — was warm, patient, and caring during every interaction. After her passing, I received a handwritten sympathy card from them, with personal notes from multiple staff members. That simple act of kindness meant more than I can express, and it brought me comfort knowing they truly cared for her and for me during such a difficult time. I am deeply grateful to Midnight Sun Animal Hospital for the dignity, compassion, and understanding they showed throughout this journey. Even in the hardest of moments, they made sure she was treated with love.
Came home and my dog's eye was bright red. They put us on the wait list and they called us. It was the most comfortable urgent care visit we've had. They worked will with our vocal husky and the medication improved her eye within a couple days. We made appointments to update our other dogs shots as well.
