Mix studio is my favorite spot to record. Been to a lot of places, and this one’s by far the best. Super Laid-back, comfy couches, Awesome lighting, and so spacious- big enough for your whole entourage but cozy enough for a solo session as well. Top Of the line equipment, but keeps their prices lower than everywhere else I’ve been to. five star studio with five star engineers like Eric Blair! Mix studio is the best place to record in LA hands down .
I've recorded a few of songs in the past at home studios via people I found on craigslist. It was a mixed bag. Overall, I was okay with the results - This was my first time going to a recording studio and it was a great experience. I researched the engineers on the Mix / Zoom website, read the reviews, and played their samples, I narrowed it down to 4 and wound up going with Lalo AKA TopBoy thinking he was the best fit based on genre of music and how he explained his working style - Great choice on my part! Previous positive reviews I read about him were right. Lalo was awesome, super friendly, letting me know off the bat he is there for me and if I want suggestions, he'll make them but if I don't that is fine too. By the end of the 4 hours we were like two buddies vibing off each other to work the song. (I was there to record vocals, mix & master to recorded music I came with) I'll be going back to Lalo for sure to finish the song and if session 2 goes as well then, I will come back with my next song... No more craigslist for recording for me. The studio communication is primary text/ email - they are fast and enthusiastic to respond.
I just visited this studio two days ago to work on my upcoming album and Darrius was being amazing! His mixes and his style of engineering is really awesome and he was very kind, respectful, and I even enjoyed his coaching abilities. I will be definitely going back to record more records and have him as my engineer!!!
ABSOLUTELY 5 STARS OUT OF FIVE!!! Great atmosphere, off street parking! Lalo the engineer was awesome! Professional, prepared and awesome to work with!!!
MIX STUDIO got me right!! The engineer LALO. I drove to L.A from San Diego to record at mix. I have to say that I was pleased .. I have been on an endless hunt to get my music sounding like those on pandora as far as quality and sound. As an artist , I appreciate great engineers and the work they do. I tip my hat to LALO for his professionalism and for bringing that sound and quality I was looking for. His MIX game was on point.. I will definitely be back. I recommend MIX studio if you are ever in LA and need to get right..
