Decided for our divisional holiday gathering to do something more hands-on and interactive that everyone could enjoy and we had an absolutely incredible experience at Napoli Culinary Academy for our event! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the welcoming staff who made us feel right at home. The cozy and inviting atmosphere created the perfect tone for an evening of fun and learning. Chef Hassi was phenomenal—his lively and engaging demonstration kept everyone entertained while teaching us the art of making authentic pizza, stromboli, and calzones. His passion for cooking was contagious, and he made the entire process approachable and enjoyable for all skill levels. The ingredients provided were nothing short of amazing—fresh, abundant, and full of flavor. It was clear that quality is a top priority at Napoli Culinary Academy, and it truly elevated the dishes we created. This experience was not only educational but also a fantastic way to bond as a team. We left with full stomachs, big smiles, and new culinary skills to show off at home. If you’re looking for a unique, fun, and delicious team-building activity, Napoli Culinary Academy is the place to go. Highly recommended!
My kid and I were so excited to come back after having an amazing first visit at Napoli Academy with Chef Sarah — great service, great chef, friendly vibes, and a fun communal dining experience. But our second visit was the exact opposite. No one checked on us to order drinks, getting water felt impossible, and the environment was chaotic. We were stuck next to a very drunk and disruptive guest. Instead of helping, Chef Hassi assumed we were part of her group and repeatedly singled me out with comments over the microphone. He twice stopped the show to ask loudly “where the dad is” to my child — which made the entire room gasp and left my kid upset for the rest of the night. The crude humor went too far, and this time it was pointed. It was humiliating, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. The interactive humor that’s supposed to be part of the show turned into something that felt rude and uncomfortable. The crowd energy tanked, the drunk guests left before food was even served, and what should have been a fun night turned into something we wish we could forget. We loved our first visit, but after this experience and knowing from other reviewers that the organization is a take-it-or-leave-it situation where feedback is not welcome or accepted, we’re not sure we’ll be back. As a non-profit teaching academy, and one that I was considering enrolling my child in before this incident, I hope that this organization will rethink its demeanor and overall guest experience. Others pay to learn professionally from them.
I reached out with a simple polite question about the class and received a surprisingly rude, condescending reply. Instead of a friendly clarification, the tone came across as unprofessional and unwelcoming. Clear and courteous communication is a basic expectation, especially when someone is considering spending money on your services. If this is how potential customers are treated before even attending, I can only imagine how the overall experience might be. They made it obvious that customer service isn't a priority. If basic courtesy is too much to expect in an email, I can’t imagine the effort put into the class itself. Unfortunately, this first impression was enough for me to decide not to enroll. Save your money and support businesses that actually value people.
We had a great experience with chef Hassi again. It was a Sicilian theme.Butternut squash soup with bits of sausage, Sicilian meatloaf and roasted potatoes and cannoli for desert. The money helps to support the culinary program, and it is a fun night of cooking and eating.
Update Valentine's Pistachio class 2025: this was my first time coming to a holiday class and it was SO amazing and well worth the slightly higher cost per ticket. The night started with a plate full of appetizers and glass full of champagne for each person. Appetizers included breaded shrimp, meatballs, some sort of amazing meat-stuffed bread item like a bite sized pot-pie of some kind, and chocolate covered strawberries- ALL were awesome, and along with the samples throughout the class portion of the night, by the time we got our entrees we were so full from all the amazing food that we got to take home several boxes worth of food for the next day. The pistachio-themed menu had weird-sounding items that are actually so delicious and amazing, you've got to try any classes that teach the pistachio apple salad and the pistachio pasta! As always, the chefs were sweet, hilarious, and full of great information. Even though I've been here about a dozen times, I still learn something new and have a unique experience every time I come. And I always take home some Tiramisu and cheesecake from the dessert case because they have the best, freshest desserts in town (thank you Chef Sara!) I love this place so much! Thank you Napoli staff, for everything! Update 7/9/24: The classes keep getting better every time I come! There are always unique perks with each visit. This time my husband and I were treated to a sample of the most amazing vodka I've ever tasted, produced by the Chef himself! It's called Persian 7000 and it's 110 proof vodka that is unbelievably smooth-tasting. Check out the photos! And ask for it by name to get the word out 🥂 Sara's classes are amazing too! Hassi and Sara are both amazing teachers. I highly recommend the New Orleans class with Chef Sara! Just had my fourth class here, and it was as amazing as ever! This is the Disneyland ride of cooking classes. Wonderful, talented, funny chef/culinary experts. You'll learn priceless cooking tips and great traditional recipes, sample many foods, get hands-on experience making your own food that you get to eat and bring home. I have nothing bad to say about this place and the people who work here!
