A very good studio that I’ve trusted for almost 3 years. All the instructors are good, but Luke’s Thursday morning class is a standout. He’s very observant, gives great corrections, and really knows how to challenge you. If you’re looking for a professional and motivating environment, this is it!
Please avoid Emma’s classes, especially if you are new to Pilates. I have never been to a pilates class where the instructor blatantly ignores incorrect form and shockingly gives progressions?!! This is SO so dangerous and you’re just waiting for an injury to happen. I see most people attending classes here are new to Pilates so they might not know what it is right or wrong, so it is the instructors responsibility to give proper corrections and importantly guide a SAFE class. Cherry on top is she kinda gets annoyed when you don’t follow the cues right? How do you expect that when the class doesn’t flow and you’re going at a rather quick pace with everyone doing it wrongly? I thought it was a one time thing so I gave her class another shot and to my horror it was only worse. I just don’t understand. I literally cringe looking around the class and watching it go on the way it did. 2 stars as there are other instructors who are actually decent and pay attention to form and provide necessary corrections. Overall, equipment needs a refresh too. They’re the most uncomfortable reformer beds I’ve used. I know you get what you pay for so those I can overlook, but the safety issue in Emma’s classes… I just had to come here to leave this review if it could be of any hep in preventing someone getting injured.
I’ve had a great experience at this Pilates HQ studio. All the instructors are professional and supportive, but Louise is my favorite, her classes are excellent! She explains everything so well, makes the sessions engaging, and I can really feel the positive difference in my body. Highly recommended.
I really like PilatesHQ. I've only ever done Pilates here so I have no way of comparing them to other instructors at different studios but the instructors are great. My fave is Lizzie. She walks around and checks/corrects you and it really makes a difference. Tiffany does the same and says affirming things through the session. I do enjoy Emma's classes but sometimes she does make instructions a little confusing because she over explains in technical ways that aren't always clear. I would agree that it would be helpful if she was more hands-on with corrections. I've only been to a couple of Shellys class and like the others, she's been great. Would suggest she also help correcting posture too. Sometimes it is hard to hear Emma and Shelly, but I'm not good at projecting my voice so I can understand if that's the case. Maybe walk around repeating instructions so everyone can hear? PilatesHQ has also been very accommodating. They've extended my dates when I start my intensive classes due to Ramadan starting. They've overall been very helpful and responsive. I would give 5 stars but the studio is tiny and I wish I classes were bigger because there's already so few slots available and they get booked up fast!
A nice studio with natural lighting and professional instructors with reasonable pricing. But I do wish they looked after their equipment more.. the springs have to be updated and the reformers need to be deep cleaned.
