I’m done with this place. The staff are great but the management or ownership are negligent. Machines broken, sometimes for weeks. Multiple TVs not on or working. Other TVs broadcasting nothing but audio static. Audio connectors glitchy and full of static. And that’s on top of not nearly enough TVs in the first place. Do you really think people can watch TV across that lateral distance? Really? How many times do I have to mention the specific treadmills that don’t allow you to change the incline while in motion? Useless. And many more. I’ve commented, I’ve pleaded, and not only do things not get better, they get worse. I’m out. An appeal to people who are members aligned with this location but who don’t visit: You are a linchpin of the business model. They charge you every month, and you don’t come so you cost them nothing in wear and tear or depreciation or staffing or any of it. Cancel today, and maybe they will change for the better. Thank you.
The best planet fitness in the twin cities! Excellent equipment options, large space, clean, parking, and great customer service.
First day in this location and I forget his name, but he was the most welcoming staff member I have encountered. He reviewed my meal plan, workout regiment, and gave me helpful advice and information to help make sure I reach my bulking goals. This location is a few miles further than the other one from my house, but I have zero doubt this will be my new location I go to going forward! The atmosphere he provided helped reassure my mentality towards what I’m working for!
BEWARE— as someone who paid my hard-earned money to planet fitness for YEARS. Consistently going— not only are the machines usually/what sees to be most of the time, broken- and by broken I don’t just mean “unusable”, I mean; cords sticking out from the cables to the point that it WILL cut you. I know because it cut my nose AND my hand on two separate occasions -not only that but I kept my membership open WHILE attending a “real gym” if you will(meaning I was giving them my money knowing that it was for emergencies only). I was STILL lied to by staff. I intentionally went out of my way to wait until November to cancel, so I wouldn’t be charged the renewal fee. Long story short; I come in, ASK UP FRONT, then ASKED AGAIN “are you sure” THEN still asked if the employee could check- his feet weren’t even so much as facing me, to give you an idea. So I say- verbatim - “so when they charge me the renewal fee, I come in and talk to you ?” To which the employee replied “you wouldn’t even talk to me, you’d talk to my manager”’— point is; I was lied to, after asking MULTIPLE TIMES if he’d check for me. I was reassured there was no point in even checking because “everybody gets charged in December” I then went to workout and guess what? They charged me the renewal fee, I deliberately went out of my way ALL YEAR to keep an eye on. I then explained it to another employee(woman this time, she apologized and was curtious. She actually was the one that took my report, when their machine CUT me, due to THEIR neglect, on repairing/replacing equipment, that literally cut my FACE). I was told the manager was on vacation or out of town— but unavailable. I kept on, and was finally given her number and the gym # as well, told I’d get a call— still no word. Still no refund. My membership is now canceled- because I’ll be damned & cancelled immediately -and something tells me I won’t be hearing from them anyway. Bottom line: I highly recommend you check out another gym. ESPECIALLY if you don’t like being lied to or feeling taken advantage of. The neglect & the utter disrespect in my opinion, is just not worth the headache. You’ll feel much better paying a litttttle more someplace else( not to mention the fact that a lot of other places offer free/discounted membership with health insurance) so not only would it possibly be the same price, if not cheaper— but it may even be free ! You’ll never know unless you call around— and I highly suggest, you do, indeed call around. As someone who went to this planet fitness, consistently, for YEARS & their other locations. I’m appalled at the way I’ve been treated over this past year. Disgusting in my opinion and the best part of it ALL; is that what I’m saying; is true. Factual. No exaggeration. I will never go back to any planet fitness or any of its affiliates, in the future, for as long as I live. Do better planet fitness. Do better.
The Planet Fitness in West St. Paul is excellent!! It is very clean, well kept, and always has stocked paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitizer (much appreciated!) WILLY, who works late nights (staff) is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! The man works his tail off keeping this gym SPICK AND SPAN!!! He goes above and beyond keeping the gym in tip top shape!! Thank you!
