Stopped by for coffee, espresso, and some vegan pastries for breakfast. Staff very friendly and they were quick to put together our order. Double espresso was pulled well. Also got two lattes (one hot and one cold) that I was told were okay. We got a croissant (non -vegan) and a vegan pumpkin muffin, both of which tasted good. I’m not sure if they’re made on premises or brought in from somewhere—if I had to guess, it’s the latter based on the quality of the croissant (high number of folds).
Best coffee in pacific beach! Sydney and Allie make a mean hazelnut white mocha and were friendly, informative, and gave us awesome recommendations for things to do while we’re in town. We’ll be back!
I’m so confused about the high ratings this place has. I’m here visiting from LA and started looking for a good coffee place and Pump coffee came up with the highest star reviews claiming they have the absolute best coffee in town. As a no brainer I came in super excited only to be so disappointed by the hot latte I ordered. It was like watered coffee but with milk. Couldn’t even taste the espresso. Ugghhh terrible coffee is an understatement. Searching for the next place for a good coffee!
Coffee was amazing and iced matcha latte was too! The girls were friendly and service was super quick!
First, I own a local craft coffee shop in Denver, CO, so I am incredibly picky about espresso. My family was vacationing in Mission/Pacific beach area and I tried several local coffee shops before finding Pump. They have the best reviews by far so I was pumped (no pun intended) about that. I won’t name the other shops but they were SO mid and nothing special. When I walked into Pump, I immediately saw Ashley, the owner, because she radiates joy, kindness and confidence. The way she interacts with customers is so genuine and she clearly loves coffee and loves building relationships with locals and tourists. We immediately connected about being female craft coffee shop owners. Then I ordered a 12oz half sweet honey cinnamon latte and it was so good! The other local shops just used espresso that was not good! I went back 4 mornings in a row for the rest of our vacation. No other place in the area was worth it and Ashley deserves all the love for her little shop she has. Great vibes, cool decor, great pastry choices, the best espresso you will find in that area. So fun to meet you, Ashley! You always have a friend in Denver, CO! -Chelsea
