Did the Falls of the James trip with guide Tom. Fantastic time! Tom was a great guide, and the other raft guides in our group seemed great as well. Shooting the rapids was a blast (though the river was only at 3.6 feet, I'm sure it's even more fun with more water flow), and the island stops we made to relax and jump into the water were very nice as well. The whole experience took around 3 hours, and I enjoyed every minute. My only regret is that it took over 5 years of living in Richmond for me to give this a try. I'll be back in the spring!
Massey was the best guide you could ask for! First time ever rafting for us and he made it so approachable and fun! Super down to earth and knowledgeable about the water system and city of Richmond! Down to come back and do it again!
We took our girl scout troop on the upper river and they had a blast! Since the water was low enough, they were able to get out and swim. The drinking water and trail mix was perfect halfway through, during a swim break. Brenner, Will, and Sav were absolutely amazing: giving facts, having patience, and building a makeshift slide for the girls to play on. We absolutely plan on going back!
Our group of 19 had the BEST time during our corporate team building rafting trip. All of the guides were knowledgeable, fun, and kept us feeling safe during the entire ride down the river. Already planning another event for next year! Thank you, Brenner, Ty, Billy, Cullen and Sav for such an unforgettable experience!
Totally unique way to experience the city! Richmond is one of the only places in the world where you actually get urban whitewater, with the river making its way through bright green forest and tall buildings not far off. The guides at Riverside are really friendly and the operation is safe and professional. And the patio at the end is a fun place to chill with a cold drink.
