I’ve taken several ceramics classes at SAL and have learned new skills each time. All the instructors are very talented and do a fantastic job with demos and knowledge sharing. The open studio hours are convenient and flexible, and there’s always a tech or an instructor who is happy to answer questions. I’ve been to a few other local studios and SAL has the biggest studio space, the best hours, and all the tools you could possibly need. Adding some photos of some of the things I’ve made in the 6 months since my first class.

Ken, you are a wonderfully talented artist and teacher! Your pottery classes have really inspired Yolanda to be more creative and take more risks with her art! I really appreciate how you took the time to explain the technique. Yolanda also enjoys the friendships, fun and lightheartedness in the class!

My daughter attended a pottery camp at Seattle Artist League in Georgetown last week and had the best time. The instructor was amazing. Love the space! I can’t say enough great things about this place. We will be back for more classes.

I’ve been taking pottery classes at Seattle Artist League since January, and I cannot recommend it enough. Every instructor I’ve had has been amazing, they’re so knowledgeable and helpful. I had never taken a wheel throwing class before I started here, and they make it easy to pick up quickly. When I need a mental break from the demands of life, I can pop in for open studio any day of the week to work on things. The atmosphere is so friendly and if you want to chat and make friends, it’s easy to do so. If you want to clear your head and zone into the wheel and listen to music, that’s an option too and no one will bug ya! I just can’t say enough good things about SAL.

I have taken two classes so far (beginning drawing and beginning figure drawing) and I thoroughly enjoyed both. I have a background in visual art, but haven't practiced in about 20 years. The instructors were very helpful and supportive. I got to brush up on skills I had long forgotten and felt inspired to try new things. What I enjoyed the most was the focus on actively doing the work. Each class began with a short lecture and reference slides, but ultimately the class was about putting drawings on the page. I learn best by doing and this school provides that environment.
