Kiku is the sweetest and kindest person, first time I came and I felt like if I knew her for years!
This is a very skilled Tailor, who has been doing this in Bellaire for many years. She was very welcoming and ensured that all measurements were to my liking. I took two three piece suits that were two sizes big in the jacket, and about 4-6in big in the pants. These were from my great grandfather and the results were stunning. It was a 2 week turnaround. The only reason for a 4 star was that the price was definitely more than I was expecting to pay. It total it was $220 to hem the pants, bring in the waist, and slim the jacket. All that to say I would definitely recommend and bring some other pieces!
I can't say enough good things about Kiku at The Sewing Center! She worked wonders on my wedding dress and made me feel absolutely beautiful on my special day. The dress was quite complex, with a skirt made of three different fabric types, and Kiku had to hem it just right. She also took in my sleeves and subtly closed the deep V to better support my bust, all while maintaining the integrity of the design. What impressed me most was how quickly and skillfully she handled all these alterations. She did it in just three weeks, with three different fittings, and every adjustment was perfect. Despite the complexity and tight turnaround, I never felt rushed or like I was compromising on the fit or look of my dress. This was my first time meeting Kiku, as a work colleague of mine—who has been going to her for 30 years—recommended her, and I’m so glad I took his advice! Kiku will absolutely be my sole alterations person moving forward. And the best part? I expected the alterations to be quite expensive, but Kiku’s pricing was more than reasonable, especially given the work she did. If you’re looking for someone who can handle detailed, intricate alterations with care and precision, I highly recommend Kiku. She truly helped make my wedding day perfect!
I have used The Sewing Center for years! I have never been disappointed. Kiku is amazing - she is so talented. The prices are fair and the turnaround is quick. I highly recommend her for all sewing, alterations or custom work you may have.
Kiku is the very best! Kind, patient and an incredibly skilled seamstress. This review is very overdue. She has done many alterations for my family. Her biggest job was resurrecting my mother’s wedding dress to fit me and my style. Everyone was very pleased! Thank you Kiku!
